About

The Legend Continues...

Story

Walk through the streets of war-torn Normandy and see a glider delivering a jeep into battle, hear troopers exiting a helicopter in Vietnam, watch the rooftops as soldiers and an MH‐6 “Little Bird” rescue Kurt Muse in Panama, witness troops defending freedom in Iraq and fighting the war on terror in Afghanistan. The Airborne & Special Operations Museum recounts the actions of heroic soldiers from the early days of the Parachute Test Platoon to the ongoing Global War on Terrorism. The museum preserves the extraordinary feats performed by the United States Army’s Airborne and the Special Operations Forces, all who jump from the sky, into battle. Come see what brings out the best in America’s sons and daughters. Our museum is a source of pride to all those who served, or now serve, in the U.S. Army Airborne and Special Operations units.

Mission

The Museum will provide a unique educational experience on United States history and basic core values through the preservation, interpretation and recognition of US airborne and special operations history, equipment, technology, legend, art and weaponry.

My wife and I went with her Aunt and Uncle. He was a CSM in the 173rd Airborne. He was active in many of the conflicts presented. This is a fantastic museum to gain insight into the different areas of conflict our Armed Forces were involved in. If you ever have the chance to visit you will come away with even more respect and pride for our Armed Service personnel for their heroism and sacrifices they made. The scenes they have set up are realistic and well laid out for you to get a feel of what a soldier faced while deployed. Highly recommend this museum when in town.

Really great place to learn about US military history! Kind folks, nice place to spend some time and learn about the local community as well. Visiting family and looking for something to do. Had a good time and a bonus that it was free. Please make sure to donate.

An absolutely incredible collection of artifacts and accounts from WWII on. The level of detail and accuracy is absolutely worth the trip. The staff here are all friendly and well versed in the history of each display. I'd recommend a visit here to anyone with even a passing interest in the Airborne and Special Operations Community.

We have visited several times. This was the first time for our oldest son and his family. What a great place to see what others have done to protect our freedom.
