My favorite museum in NC. Currently they are hosting a WWI exhibit from the Smithsonian and it is extremely well done. Very interesting weapons, armor specific to that conflict's trench warfare, medals (even a Congressional Medal of Honor), shells, uniforms, and an assortment of gas masks are just a few highlights. Definitely worth catching before the exhibit moves on. And, it's free! They also have a women's clothing/style exhibit, sports exhibit and a war through the ages exhibit with a really nice Civil War section.

Amazing history museum!! All sorts of exhibits, interesting educational films and interactive displays from all throughout NC history! Awesome special exhibits too, so you know there's always something new to look forward to ... but it's hard to imagine even being able to take it all in just looking at the regular displays. Something for everyone and DEFINITELY NOT boring! They also have special events all year celebrating the cultural heritage & arts of a variety of different groups, including American Indians, an African Festival and a Celtic Festival. Also, they have special lectures and history related movies in the auditorium. I've probably only scratched the surface, this place is great! And oh yeah, it's FREE!

Great place to learn history and very important to learn history. We must know our history so that we don't keep repeating arms Stakes. Plus more importantly I think these exhibits are powerful to help us release emotional blockages and get a new energy and purpose about what are life is here on Earth. Certainly not to enhance warmongers but to promote peace and have peaceful lives and be at peace within themselves.

This is a wonderful place to visit. I went on a Saturday morning, giving me free reign of the place. On the way out, a security guard asked if I visited the pharmacy exhibit. I had missed it and he let me know all about it including what I should look for. I'm glad I stopped. It's a wonderful place to see!

Okay I might be biased because I'm a huge history nerd, however this place is really really cool! There's so much to learn here! The exhibits are well displayed and fun to learn about! There is so much history it's simply amazing!! And don't forget to stop by the gift shop, it's one of the best gift shops I've seen in any Museum anywhere!!! I totally love this place!!! And the staff are so cool!!! Also it's free!!!! And if you want a yummy Burger don't forget to check out the diner on the lower level!!! Have fun!!! ☺️☺️☺️
