This looks like a nice place if you can travel back 20 years. I want to be positive, and there were some good things here. The room was clean, the shower excellent (because it dates from a time before water saving fixtures) and the lady at the front desk was very polite. But... The furnishings are ancient, there's haphazard and half-hearted construction all over, and our door didn't even have a working entry lock. You could bolt it from the inside, but it opened without any key from the hallway. Had we not been in for the night, that would have been a real problem. The microwave was the oldest one I've seen in a looong time, so I looked at the back panel out of curiosity, and saw the manufacture date was October 1996! It might have still worked, but we didn't try it. This place does have a nice lobby area, but it's a mess once you get past that.

Adequate, though not spectacular. The staff was helpful and courteous. The bed was huge and comfy. A few nits to pick: * There wasn't a sample menu available for the nearby Indian restaurant. * There was no electronic guide on the TV so you didn't know where channels were or what was on them. * Air circulation could have been better in the public areas. * The room had the odor of spilled moonshine. * The vents on the a/c were not adjustable.

I was not even at this hotel for 2 minutes. We got our room and it still had hairs on the tub from a previous person. We went to the front and complained and they said the maid did not come in today and they knew they put us in the wrong room. They also said it was a non-smoking building even though it smelled like smoke. Horrible experience. They refuse to give my money back until they talk to my travel company. Travel company has contacted them numerous times but they will not pick up. Do not go here!!! Run!

Awful-please spend a little more and go elsewhere. Quite run down and under construction although not really clear on what's actually being worked on. Peculiar smell. Got to my room and immediately checked bedsheets-one bed seemed ok while the other had stained sheets. Toilet filled with toilet paper not from me. Dirty wash clothes hanging on shower curtain rod-also not mine. Used shampoo bottle. Little hairs in shower. I am ok staying in a place that's outdated but cleanliness is non negotiable. I went to the front desk and told them I couldn't stay there and they gave me a refund no questions asked. While I appreciate that, I found it strange. It seemed like something they do quite often because they didn't ask questions as to why I was checking out immediately after checking in. Seemed like a pretty regular occurrence.

Problem number one was that the television didn't work. It was missing an HDMI cable. Guess no one checked that. Problem number two, we left the hotel and when we came back we could not get into our room for 20 minutes. Three people tried to get us in. When we asked what The Back-up Plan was, they said to wait and that eventually it would work. Oddly enough, eventually it did work. The guy explains that the handle needed to be pulled up instead of down and that there used to be directions on the door that explain this. He was the third worker that tried. We had also tried. We had tried up and down and left and right and pushing and pulling. Nothing worked the door. The other workers had also tried all of those things and nothing worked. I think he thought he might be a genius. He could not explain why opened all of a sudden after he had been trying himself for over 5 minutes. When we walked in he said to turn on the light. The light doesn't turn on. He said it should turn on and then proceeded to move all of the pillows and try to plug a lamp in behind the bed. Then he got frustrated and said that the plug behind the bed was a two prong plug and it should be a three-prong plug. He also said this room should never have been rented because it wasn't finished and that maintenance needed to fix it still. Every worker at the hotel criticized every other worker at the hotel. Very comforting. The shower was so gunky and gross-looking. The caulk is old and nasty. Apparently they can afford nice granite counter tops, but not caulk. The vending machines only take credit or debit, but they won't work. When they don't work they tell you to insert cash. The ice machine was right outside the door that blocked it from our door. People yelled and screamed and talked and used that machine all night long. At 2:30 a.m. I considered getting ready for the next day. Sleeping was not even possible, which is pretty much the first thing you look for in a hotel. St Louis is a really big city. You have choices. Do not choose this one. That would be stupid. I also want to add that the price for this hotel room came to a total of $92.18. That is not cheap. Luckily I printed out the booking from online because when I got to the hotel they wanted to charge me almost $95. They had no explanation for the change in cost. This morning when we checked out, there was another man at the front desk making excuses. The woman working at the front desk was very kind. There's no reason to be hurt about your hotel being horrid. Unless of course, you own it or manage it. Then you should be ashamed.
