After my recent experience, I am updating my review -- I do not take this lightly.

Short Story: Hired AJ Moving, Moving van hit my car, AJ Moving lied to my insurance company forcing me to pay for damages.

Lesson: If anything goes wrong on your move, do not expect AJ Moving to take ownership.

I hired AJ Moving in August, using them for a 2nd time, to move me from Manassas to Herndon, VA. The movers hit my car with the moving truck. The damage was not too great, no one was hurt, so we took photos and continued in finishing the move. Aside from some poorly wrapped furniture and scuffed walls, the rest of the move went smoothly.

This is when my experience took a turn for the worst. Most businesses don't show their true colors until something goes wrong. In this case, AJ Moving demonstrated that they will lie to insurance companies if it means saving money.

I contacted my insurance company who said they would handle the situation. Weeks go by and my insurance company stated that "AJ Moving is stating they are not insured, and they are no longer cooperative, so we will proceed under your (my) insurance policy". I called AJ Moving, spoke to the "operations manager", claiming they do have insurance and said he would call or e-mail the information. That was 2 weeks ago. 3 calls and emails, no progress.

I have e-mails, recorded phone calls, and photos proving everything.

I paid my deductible for the damages ($500) and I am wiping my hands of this situation. It's troubling that a company is willing to lie over something like this. An expensive lesson on my part.

for 2.  Outstanding!  These three guys did an outstanding job in handling and moving our contents from storage to our home site.  They were helpful in every sense of the word.  We had to remove the window in our coverted bedroom to office to place the desk inside the bedroom.  Great job.  Moved boxes and furniture to wherever we wanted it placed.  I high recommend AJ Moving, you will not be disappointed.  Thank you and be assured I will use them again when I need movers.
