I called in regards to a vehicle posted on Craigslist. As someone with experience in sales/customer service in the auto industry, I know what I should expect from a good dealership. What I received was not this. 

Upon answering the phone, I asked the gentleman about the vehicle. I described it in some detail, the reply to which was "On our lot?" (Rule#1. If you arent familiar with your lot, say "Yes, let me check that we still have it"). I said yes, and described it further (Rule#2. Get the info and talk to me about it, not the other way around). The man recognized that it was in fact on their lot, sounding less than enthusiastic. 

I asked him about it, had there been much interest in it, and about a specific part of the ad mentioning "xxx,000 Actual Miles". I asked what they meant by actual miles. "Well, it means actual miles." Less enthusiastic than the last time, as if I was wasting his time (Rule#3. Play to people's emotions; specifically, their positive emotions, rather than negative). I then asked if it had the original motor or if it had been replaced, to which he replied "I dont know." (Rule#4. NEVER say "I dont know". ALWAYS say, "Oh, let me check that out for you")

They were very unwilling to help me, or even ask about what I was looking for. 

I will not be visiting this dealership, even if the vehicle in question was nearly exactly what I was interested in.

They weren't pushy and weren't shady. They made things quick and easy. No stress! They are a friendly trustworthy dealership that I'd send my family to. We went to 10+ dealers looking for a car and the others tried to take us for every penny we have, but Al's prices are great to start with and made our trade in easy satisfying as well. Thanks Al and Jerry!
