When you owe the state of Alabama, they waste no time snatching your coins, but let them owe you!

Last year I received my state tax refund between 12 - 16 weeks. Alabama is one of the toughest state to receive a tax refund. I still have not receive my 2016 tax refund and I filed it in March 2017.  When I check the status  it will take 8 - 12 weeks, but this is not true.  Not sure why it takes so long to process the application or make a deposit directly to your bank account.  It should be processed and automatically paid within a reasonable timeline. Please understand Alabama have come a long ways, but still have room for improvements to serve the taxpayers.  If you were depending on your tax return for a summer vacation.  You may want to look at other options.  However, like other agencies when you owe money you are required to pay in a timely manner.  The same should apply to Alabama state tax refund.

HORRIBLE Automated attendant. Runs you thru the ringer & then hangs up on you. PATHETIC! If you can get someone on the phone they are usually good to help otherwise good luck!
Just trying to get assistance on sales tax which we collect for the DOR.

I hate dealing with this office.
Wait on hold for over an hour, get talked to very rude and then they hang up on you!

I had a concern about a Mandatory Liability Insurance Questionnaire, as we had never received one before.  The young woman who answered my call was pleasant, reassuring, and verified there was no need for concern.  Excellent customer service response!
