THE ALAMEDA ART ASSOCIATION
The Alameda Art Association was formed in 1944 in Alameda, California. It's purpose was to encourage the visual arts, and to serve as a medium of communication between local artists. It is nonpolitical and non-sectarian, and encourages a wide variety of artistic styles. For the last 65 years the Alameda Art Association has has worked continuously to promote art in the community.
On May 1st, 2009, the Alameda Art Association opened its own gallery at 2242 Alameda South Shore Center in Alameda (off Park and Otis Dr.). The gallery currently houses the works of over 30 member artists, and is continually growing. Our gallery hours are:
12:00-5:30 PM - Wednesday through Sunday
(NOTE: Regulary closed on Monday and Tuesday)
Closed Christmas Day.
We may also be open some evenings--please call to check in advance. The gallery phone number is (510) 523-4475.
The Alameda Art Assocation is open to any artist age 18 or older. Please note that ALL applications and renewals for the Alameda Art Association must be signed by the President (Gil Garitano).
If you would like to apply for a new membership to the Alameda Art Association, please fill out the application form from the website, and either drop it by the gallery or mail it to the address below.
