Welcome to Alamitos West Health Care Center. We offer long term care and acute rehabitation care located in Southern California. Alamitos West Heath Care Center is certified by Medicare, as well as Medi-Cal (Orange County’s medical provider) and maintains contracts with most long term care and many acute care health plans.

The Health Care Center is staffed around the clock with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants. We have a fully-staffed rehabilitation team consisting of physical, occupational, and speech therapists. We are very proud of our reputation for returning patients to the community. Our average length of stay for rehabilitation patients is just over 21 days.

In addition, we share our campus with Katella Senior Living Community (katellaseniorliving.com), and together we are the fifth largest employer in the city.

I have a friend here rehabing from a broken shoulder. She has been a patient for over 3 months and recently I ran into her at our local bar singing drinking and dancing. How is it that a patient is allowed out of the hospital to party at the local bar? I called and spoke to the charge nurse and she said she could have had a pass if she was released to a responsible party. The person that picked her up is a woman that recently got her 3rd DUI guess thats responsible. Its really great to see what are tax dollars are paying for when you can go out and party at the bar at night and then return to the rehab hospital where your waited on hand and foot and your Medi Cal insurance is paying for your care. This is outrageous and frankly unbelievable that this is allowed. What has our medical community come to.

I brought my mom here after a horrible experience at Regency Oaks in Long Beach.  This place was wonderful!!!!! Not only did they take care of the pressure sore my mom got at Regency Oaks, but they also got my mom up walking and she was able to go home after only 3 months.  Everyone there is wonderful!!! They went above and beyond to help with whatever she needed and whenever she called for someone to help her, they were there right away, I think the longest she ever had to wait for someone was maybe 15 minutes.  If I could give them more then 5 stars I most certainly would!!!  Thank you to everyone at Alamitos West for taking such great care of my mom!! If I ever had to place her in a SNF again, this would be it without any question!!!

My father was sent to Alamitos West Health Care Center after he has a bed sore and pneumonia and had been hospitalized a few days at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.  They kept him doped up, did not listen to him about his leg pain, covered up his foot,  and refused to send him to the hospital when I told them his leg was cold and bluish.  I asked if he had gangerine
 and the head nurse said no. She refused to let me call an ambulance to take him to a hospital.  I tried to contact his doctors, but to no avail.  Finally a doctor checked him. His covered up foot was black! He had less than two weeks to live so his leg was amputated.  The facility hires uneducated foreign workers who do not have good medical care knowledge.  I complained to the State nursing licensing bureau.  Sanctions were taken and a fine was levied.  Problems still continue and sanctions are still taken to no avail.  More people are dying or being injured because of the neglect, ignorance, and poor care.  Do not take your loved ones there!!!
