I would give zero stars if I could. I went in for emergency care. Emergency room is contracted with my insurance but the ER doctor was not. There is no notification of this situation. I was triaged, asked personal questions and had my blood drawn in the overcrowded waiting room. You would think that would be some sort of violation. I was seen by the doctor for 5 minutes in a hallway with several other patients. I have been battling my $1000 bill for months. This is a horrible way to treat patients. It is shameful that the doctor, hospital and insurance lets this happen.

If I could give no stars I would. The hospital failed to provide me with the necessary forms to send to the Veterans Administration to have my case processed for payment by the VA. I called them more than 9 times, wrote them requesting they provide the information to the VA (as requested by the hospital and the VA, but the hospital willfully failed to do), and subsequently visiting the hospital on 3 occasions while in agonizing pain, recuperating from a broken back, where they knowingly gave me the wrong forms. Then, they willingly forward the unpaid bill (because of them) to collections. My only recourse at this point is to take them to court. My opinion is that if you're sick, don't go there. All they concern themselves with is the money. Even my parents quit doing business with them because they charged them for services not rendered, and make them pay to park. In my opinion, they are crooks and deserve to be treated the same manner in which they treat you. They're an embarrassment to the medical community, especially when they value money over a patients welfare.

Our elderly mother received exceptional care at LAMC. She was admitted to two separate units and both were outstanding on all levels. All health care professionals were so kind, sensitive and explained all of the details relating to her daily healthcare needs. We thank everyone at LAMC for taking the best care of our sweet Mom.

My daughter has been here since yesterday morning. Approx 27 hour was told she needed suregy. Well still waiting for a doctor. I'm so happy it's her gallblatter and not her heart

Went into this hospital 3 times in one year for abdominal pain. The first 2 times they said it was not life threatening, even though they saw an obstruction in the Ultra Sound, and sent me home the same day. However, they were wrong, in October 2016, my Entangled Hernia ruptured, causing septic poisoning gang green, and I was rushed to ER. This time, for an Emergency Surgery. The surgeons on staff didn't know how to save me until an experienced one walked in last minute to save my life, he is an amazing 5 star surgeon, but this review is for the hospital. I am so greatful. I wish they would have caught it the first 2 times I went in, and that they didn't basically turn me away, after putting IV's in me, and telling me everything is ok to resume work and normal life. They were wrong, and I almost died from it. The stay after the painful surgery, the nurses were mostly great, but for some reason, pushed medications I had never taken before like Haldol. This I had never taken, it added even more pain, and harshness to my recovery after my surgery. I am afraid to go back there. Beware. However, great surgeon, and great nurses for the most part, but pushing an anti-psychotic on someone after a surgery seems really shady. I understand due to budget cuts, this might have been why.
