Our Five Generations of Excellence….
Christopher Velhelm Rasmussen
Christopher Immigrated to the United States from Denmark in the mid 1890s as a fine clock maker and repairman. Christopher passed down the family trade to his son William Leander Rasmussen.
William Leander Rasmussen
William never let the family craft of clock repair vanish. He mostly practiced this trade as part time work from his home in Salina, UT.
Roger William Rasmussen
Roger also learned the clock and watch repair craft from his father William, and attended school at the Rolex factory in New York. He operated a small jewelry and watch repair shop in Spanish Fork, UT before securing a job as lead goldsmith for a prominent jeweler in Provo, UT.
James Roger Rasmussen, Laramie, WY
Jill Rasmussen Davis, Farmington, NM
As a young man, Roger’s son Jim trained with him at the Provo, UT shop. As Jim’s skills and family grew, he and Roger knew they needed to find a better opportunity to provide for both families, which lead Roger to purchase Alexander’s Fine Jewelry in Laramie, Wyoming. As the family and business expanded, Roger opened or purchased stores in Farmington New Mexico, Greeley Colorado, Salina Utah, Gallup New Mexico, & Phoenix Arizona, which Jim and later Roger’s daughter Jill continued to help manage as the family established a reputation for indefatigability in service, excellence in quality, and honest and competitive pricing.
Upon Roger's retirement in 1991, Jim purchased the Laramie, Wyoming store with his wife, Barb. Soon thereafter, Jill purchased the Farmington, New Mexico store with her husband, Mike Davis. Both locations have remained in operation ever since, and the family legacy of indefatigability, excellence, and honesty continues to this day.
