This is one of our favourite places to visit, and, as we live nearby, we visit often. Keeping the country pub culture, dogs are allowed in and they also have books/board games you can “borrow” while you are inside. There is a bar with beer on tap and the usual selection of non/alcoholic beverages and my wife loves their coffee. The food is an interesting selection with all day breakfast options to burgers or sandwiches and more. It’s an unhurried, homely and friendly atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We tried many different dishes over the years and have found them to be tasty, and I am adding a few pictures from a recent visit.
What a lovely place we stumbled on tonight. It was extremely busy but the hosting waitress still spent time welcoming us and giving us an update on food timings. We ordered drinks and desserts. The churros were perfection and the sticky toffee pudding was very good though could have used a little more sauce that's probably just my preference. Both waitresses were warm and friendly and the ambience was great. Dogs were allowed which was nice.
Good place for a breakfast/brunch or even lunch. Decent selection of food and drinks. Burger we had was standard, chicken was crispy and the meat was juicy, tender. Fries and salad were also good.
Lovely place, had some time to kill so popped here for a coffee on my own. Really good coffee, staff were so friendly and they had a dog water bowl by the outside tables. Also seem really good for dietary requirements, will definitely go back.
Perfect place, amazing staff and totally just the best vibes. Food is delicious and honestly it's so beautiful inside. Alto lounge is the king of caversham and that's a fact. Excellent breakfast/brunch menu. Great atmosphere and the staff are all very friendly. I would recommend going for the freshly squeezed orange juice, as this is sublime!
Went here for the first time on Sunday afternoon. Despite the restaurant having been incredibly busy due to Reading Festival the staff were very fast, friendly and personable, and the food tasted great. The atmosphere was nice and we noticed the tables were being cleaned quickly and thoroughly after people had left. We brought a dog in with us and the waitress brought her over some water and some doggy treats. And we had a gluten allergy which was catered for with confidence with some great looking and tasting food from a huge gluten free menu. Image is of the gluten free large breakfast. We will absolutely be going back, and our first impression was about as good as a first impression can possibly be.
Charming place with very friendly staff. The food was amazing for a reasonable price. I totally recommend.
Stumbled in here with my partner and 5yr old for a hot drink. I was immediately impressed by the staff and ambience. Felt very family friendly and welcoming. We only had a few hot drinks and a dessert but we will definitely be coming back very soon! I saw a few tasty pale ales on draft which caught my attention!!
Lovely girls going above and beyond serving you, making sure you have a good experience and I absolutely love their smiles and the way they sing silently whilst preparing drinks and so on. The food is delicious, also the drinks. You ve been there for breakfast a couple of times and we will definitely return with the same enthusiasm, expecting at least the same service Vegetarian options: They do veggie dishes Kid-friendliness: If not wrong they have kids menu Parking: Few parking slots in front of the restaurant and loads others either at Waitrose max 2 hrs or Iceland max 3 hrs Dietary restrictions: We were asked since we entered the premises if we have any dietary restrictions which I thought it was very professional even if both myself and my wife are fine, recently our child has been diagnosed with all sort of intolerances to food and in many restaurants we are the ones approaching to ask, whereas in here we had the pleasant surprise to be asked from the very beginning.
