The Village Inn is a staple in Alton, so I've been many times. As a place for nostalgia and friendly staff the Village is wonderful. However, it can get pretty warm inside and the size of the building doesn't allow a very quiet meal. It has a quaint feel inside, though, and it's very cozy. I would no go here when looking for a fancy restaurant, it is definitely a casual place. The food is good, but not my favorite, and it's best for breakfast in my opinion. However, they do make a great chicken horseshoe. Generally, if you want a welcoming environment and some good home-style food, this is a great place for you.

Village inn is a great place to eat at with the family! Todd is our go to server keep it up man your great!

Our waitress was really nice and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. The prices were very reasonable and the food was very good.

I had a delicious dinner at the Village Inn today.  It was a half slab of BBQ'd pork ribs that literally fell off the bone for less than $7. I chose hash browns and corn as my sides. This selection is for seniors only. A great choice!

Good food at affordable prices. Good greasy spoon diner. Only negative, I could sell the grease on my close after leaving.
