The St. Louis Bread Co. in Alton, IL is nice chain restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's location on the corner in a strip shopping shopping center is easy to access and there's ample parking. Upon entering, there's a pleasant display of foods (a lot of pastries!) at and near the order counter. You order at the counter and, at least during our breakfast visit, the food and coffee cups were placed on a tray and away you go to find a table. The coffee is opposite the order counter and is self-serve. My Mother and Sister enjoyed their cherry danish and cinnamon roll respectively. I had a spinach and artichoke soufflé which was quite good. A number of tables needed cleaned/wiped down including the one we sat at. We took care of that ourselves. We also adjusted the blinds as the sun was glaring through. After that, we had a pleasant, though pricey for what it was, experience They also have outdoor seating. The St. Louis Bread Co. is part of the Panera chain.

I just ordered my food for delivery. I told them no onions bc I am ALLERGIC to them. I get my order, and there are onions. I called and all they offered me was a voucher. This is ridiculous. I could ha e gotten extremely sick if I wouldn't have checked. And I get offered a voucher.. not to re make it and send it out again... not happy

Bit expensive. Not impress with the food and baguette..is hard like a rock..don't even try to bite if you have a false teeth.. Definitely not our place to eat again.

Most staff are nice and friendly. Food is average, pricey for a QSR. Menu board is pages long. Try to order slightly off menu (swapping one topping for another for example), and new people cannot figure out how to make the computer do it, even though it can.
