Ambrosia India Bistro, located in the heart of Old Monterey, has answered the call of area residents asking for fresh, authentic Indian food. Earlier this year our Chef, Bhupender Singh, manager Sam Khanal, and staff, relocated here from the bay area as a result of patrons from the Monterey Peninsula urging them to open an Indian restaurant closer to home. Chef Singh's personal tradition of serving beautiful, flavorful food in an intimate atmosphere is now being honored right here in our own back yard.
Located on Abrego Street, at the site of the once well-known and highly regarded Clock Restaurant, Ambrosia India Bistro is keeping alive that tradition of the superb dining experience. Upon entering the premises, you are welcomed by two statues of Ganesh (the god of success, education, knowledge, wisdom and wealth) that lead you into our intimate courtyard garden. Here, still in residence, is the famous Old Clock, erected in the late 1960s by the former owners. This is a wonderful place to enjoy lunch on a warm, breezy day, or an intimate dinner by the light of our outdoor fireplace.
