American Eagle Financial Credit Union is Connecticut's largest community-focused credit union, proudly serving everyone in Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven, and Tolland counties.

As a full-service, not-for-profit credit union, American Eagle FCU provides the products and services needed to achieve your goals, and we're owned by members just like you. Our not-for-profit status allows us to pay the highest possible rates on deposit accounts, charge the lowest possible rates on loans and keep our service fees to a minimum. Our 11-member Board of Directors serves as elected volunteers, guiding us into the future and ensuring we're positioned to provide for our members.

We've served generations of families since 1935 when Harry C. Smith, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft's Employment Manager and 14 fellow employees brought East Hartford Aircraft Federal Credit Union to Pratt & Whitney. When many banks failed during the Great Depression, the credit union grew its membership by offering savings and loans to Pratt & Whitney employees.
