Avoid at all costs. Medical staff for emergencies is pathetic! Just got home after 3 hours there and accomplished nothing at all but a referral.. useless visit I could have found a specialist myself if that's all they would be doing. Absolutely disappointed in this place!

I have had work done in the radiology department and been told my results would be sent to my doctor within 2 days. After not hearing from my doctor after a week I called the radiology dept. and was told that they sent them but if the line was busy then they would not have gone through. Don't you think they might try again later? No, they just did nothing.

I would avoid Amita/Alexius if you can. My biggest complaint is their pricing. Their prices are HIGH. Easily double the national average. Significantly higher even than other hospitals in the Chicago metro. A lot of people complain about long ER wait times, which is true of Amita/Alexius, but that's true of most hospitals, so I can't completely hold that against them. And they do have some good doctors, who I can't complain about. But as far as pricing at the hospital and in their outpatient center, it's outrageous, and their billing department will offer no discounts, unlike many other hospitals. So while I'll miss my doctor, I need to part ways with Amita.

WORST E.R. ever! You talk your business in the lobby out in the open. The wait time is horrendous! Currently here with my sister. She is pregnant. They brought her back after waiting nearly an hour. Little did I know this was to get her blood work and start an I.v. She was brought back out to wait AGAIN afterwards. On several occasions this hospital has proved it is the worst. I would never consider this hospital for myself. If you can take my advice and go elsewhere. Once another family member came to this hospital via ambulance and still was brought back out to wait in the emergency lobby. I've seen television hospitals ran better than this. Horrible experience! Front the front desk to the back. They obviously dont even know what HIPAA means. Current time here: 2 hours AND we are still on the emergency wait room, haven't made it to the back. This should not be called the emergency room. Turtles move faster! There is no sense of urgency, compassion consideration sympathy or respect. The whole emergency department is pathetic.

I spent over 4 hours in the ER today. Worst decision of my life. I should have left and gone to Northwest Community Hospital. I was in so much pain, a migraine, I decided to stay. This hospital doesn't uphold any of their values. They have so many inconsistencies. The nurses were cold, calloused and jaded toward my pain. I asked for certain things to be done with my meds via IV and all I got were excuses. They were irritated when I pressed the nurses button. I was treated like an addict because of the level of my pain. I was told I maxed all of my medicine options. I was told that I wouldn't be able to be treated with narcotics if I kept going in. I would get a letter and referred elsewhere. I asked to speak with a charge nurse and all I got was excuses. This ER is very, poorly run. Not to mention my room was dirty, I had to change my own sheets and the nurse got blood all over the floor from taking blood and didn't clean it. I'm extremely disappointed in the quality of care that I received. I was treated,like a criminal and not a patient.
