Berkeley was an original stop on the Capitol Corridor (originally named Capitols) when that service began in late 1991. San Joaquins service at Berkeley ended in 1993 because of low ridership.

No bathroom is my only complaint within the restriction that there is no indoor station to even rate. Lots of parking under overpass, good restaurants at the corners for food or bathroom, retail Fourth Street a block away.

Not in a safe location, no staff present, don't recommend waiting there for long.

What we love about this un-maned Amtrak station is the two fantastic eating spots within easy walking distance: Spengers Seafood--about 1/2 block; and Bette's Oceanview Dinner--about 2 blocks.
