We thoroughly enjoyed touring this sanctuary. Knowledgeable volunteers were on hand to answer questions and each enclosure provides a biography about the animal, how it was rescued and why it cannot live in the wild. We appreciated the lengths staff and volunteers have gone to in providing a stimulating environment for the animals ... right up to running the cheetahs on a regular basis. You can tell that the welfare of the animals is of great importance to them.

My wife and I stopped by this place on a whim while driving near Reno, based solely on the highway sign that said "wildlife park". After driving tweet miles, including a mile on a rugged gravel road, we were amazed at what we found. Rescued animals, including foxes, wolves, coyotes, bears, Jaguars, cheetahs, a tiger, and many birds were in environments as nice as many zoos. Signs explained not just about the animals, but the circumstance of their rescue and care at the park. Super knowledgable docents and care givers answered questions, and the treat of watching them prepare a "food scavenger hunt" and then watching the bear enjoy the game of solving puzzles to gain access to his food was especially interesting and revealed why this park is held in such high esteem. The stories beside some of their research projects, such as how they proved that allowing the cheetahs to "race" improves their digestion, were part of why they are chosen to keep animals from all over the country and the world! My wife had also recently broken her foot. The Ark provided us with a golf cart to easily let her enjoy all of the exhibits! A big plus!

Place is amazing. The staff was so excited we were there to watch the cheetahs exercise, its was really neat. The cheetahs were very smart. We got to see almost all the animals even though it was hot and most were napping. Knowing they felt safe enough was wonderful. We saw many native birds and a few of the lizards. We came upon one, perched atop a rock who blended in so well we about missed him. Taking it slow and looking everywhere and your bound to see some. One bluejay had snuck in the lynx's enclosure and was drinking from his water bowl. Obviously very well fed animals. The place is a haven for these animals and I can't wait for our next visit.

I lead at a charity event here and walked around the park and got to know the staff s little. It's truly amazing, the habitats are always clean, the staff is friendly, and while it's really already out, you can rent a golf car, or it's free for the handi-friends
