At Animal Medical Clinic of Punta Gorda, our goal is to treat your pet with the highest quality medical care, to use new technology, but never let it obscure our powers of observation, and to always view your pet as an integral and valuable part of your family.

Established in 1998, Animal Medical Clinic of Punta Gorda is a small, family-oriented practice and full-service veterinary medical facility. Owner and veterinarian Dr. Dan Bowen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. With the help of his professional and courteous staff, he is dedicated to treating your pet with the utmost care and compassion.

Services: Immunization and wellness care; Dermatology; Internal medicine (cardiology, ophthalmology, oncology, etc.); Radiology; Surgery; Dental care; Laser therapy; Nutritional counseling; and more.

Dr. Dan Bowen is an incredibly bright and compassionate vet. We moved to Punta Gorda 2 years ago and have tried several veterinarians in the area. Dr. Dan Bowen is by far our favorite. He has a degree in Pharmacology as well as his Veterinarian degree and is very proactive in treating our animals. His clinic has much of the equipment right in house for diagnostics, like an ultrasound which many clinics don't have available. They keep regular office hours but will work you in, in the event you have an emergent problem. He is very caring and loving and compassionate.

Dr. Bowen has been caring for our cats for 4 years.  Very good with the cats, compassionate and gives full explanations of any problems and treatments.

I love the veterinarian there he doesn't give your animal shots that they don't need he does a great job with my cat

I have taken my five cats and three dogs to Dr. Bowen since he first took over this practice and I find him and his staff to be AWESOME! All of the staff members are always friendly and helpful and will make sure they get your pet in to see the doctor as soon as possible! Every time I have ever called with any sort of issue they have always given me a same day appointment to have my pet seen by the doctor. Dr. Bowen is a wonderful doctor and it is very obvious that he loves animals by the way he greets them. As soon as he walks in the exam room he spends a few minutes just being friendly and putting your pet at ease. Dr. Bowen  is very easy to talk to and he will take as much time with you and your pet as you need which is certainly not the case with many doctors. I appreciate being able to talk to the doctor about my pet and to ask any questions I may have without feeling rushed! I would recommend Animal Medical Clinic to anyone who is looking for a wonderful caring veterinarian practice!

Absolutely the best veternary practice I have ever experienced, in over 40 years of pet ownership. Dr. Bowen is tremendously caring and skilled; his staff are also wonderful with the animals. He has taken excellent and compassionate care of our aging kitty with multiple health problems.  I wouldn't take a pet to anyone else.
