Choice Veterinary Service was amazing to work with. Dr Shaw took good care of our fur baby and did an excellent job with her surgery! The staff loved on her the whole time she was there and I felt very comfortable that she was being taken care of! The surgery was a success and the follow up appointments were a breeze. I would recommend Dr Shaw and Dr Steely for all of your veterinary needs!!

Choice Veterinary is a godsend. Many, many times they have been there for our babies at a moments notice, through goods times and the sad times. I absolutely recommend Choice to anyone for the care of their fur babies. With the ongoing expansion, the service can only get better.

Dr. Shaw & his staff go above & beyond to ensure that you & your pet have the best service. The whole clinic is helpful, kind, understanding & knowledgeable & truly is willing to be there for pet owners & their pets. Our experience at the clinic not only saved our dog, but made us feel at ease that he was in good hands. We are truly grateful to Choice Veteranary Services for being the best choice for our pets!

I took my cat Jasper or choice Vet on Tuesday:Because of the neglect and ignorance of the Vet at choice vet, I almost lost my beloved cat. I would give them a 0 star if I could. He has breathing problems, and had a UTI so I took him to the vet 3 days ago. The vet told me that Jasper didnt have a UTI that he was peeing because he wasn't neutered and his mouth had to be cut to open his airway. Because the breathing problem, he has issues with anesthesia so they did both surgeries at once . . He was home for 2 days and then I realized he couldn't go to the bathroom, literally was physically unable to go and he was trying so hard to pee. I rushed him to the Emergency vet and they said he would have died within the night because he had a urethral obstruction. He couldn't pee and it had backed up into his kidneys. Turns out Jasper DID have a UTI like I thought and the vet the other day overlooked it and did the neuter instead which stressed him out and caused this. Jasper can't be put under because he stopped breathing the last time so they gave him an epidural instead. The vet gave him 1/4 of the regular dose and he still had a severe reaction to the epidural. Because they couldn't put him under he was very awake and alert during the surgery and pulled out his catheter. The vet refuses to sedate him again to put it back in, she said the risks outweigh the benefit at this point. He was supposed to be there for 72 hours but because he took his catheter out and they can't put it back in, they are sending him home with us. We have to monitor him very closely and if he doesn't pee by 7 tonight we have to take him back in for another surgery to clear it. Hoping for the best but will NEVER go to Choice Vet again.

Hands down the best vet Punta Gorda has to offer. My cat freaks out when he has to go to the vet. Dr. Shaw knew this and was gracious and kind enough to make a house call for me. I love this place and the staff is awesome!
