Ankeny Animal & Avian Clinic is one of the oldest and most respected veterinary clinics in Iowa. Led by 2nd-generation veterinarian Dr. Scott Faulkner, the doctors here have over 50 years combined experience. We offer wellness exams, in-house lab work, dental cleanings & digital dental radiography, laser surgery, boarding services and much more!

Love this place. The vets and staff are so good with my pets and know their stuff. My dog is usually a bit nervous with vets and they always give her a lot of love and treats to make her feel better at appointments, and are very patient overall. Would recommend this clinic to everyone.

By far, the best group of vets in central Iowa, and we have been to a few. As others say, very friendly and clean environment. Smart and caring staff, and caring, communicative doctors. They also have the right people and equipment to address an urgent dental issue and understand and support the pet owner during scary times. Sebastian thinks they're great.

Best veterinarian, techs, and office staff I've ever had! This team truly cares for the animals as if they are their own pets. They are so good with my highly anxious dog, doing whatever they can to calm him (which has not been my experience at other vets), and giving me helpful tips to try at home, as well. Dr. Gigler's assessment and treatment is always very thorough, and she takes however much time is needed to address the issues. She has such a loving approach. I am so grateful to have found them!

My dog is older and it seems it is one health problem after another. I feel better getting everything repaired...lol. I was worried about her health issues, but the doctor throughly checked her out. We fixed what could be fixed, and  I'm managing everything else the best at can. I shopped around since money's tight, but I decided I'd rather spend a regular amount- the services were about average priced- and get good care than be a cheapskate with my dogs health. I took her in for her dental cleaning and she got the royal treatment. Now she's all good to go until something else pops up. I'm glad at least I can relax with my girl and not worry about her. (In case you don't know-dogs are VERY good at hiding pain).  I feel confident about the doctor opinion. I'm a "why" person and some doctors get annoyed, but he explained some stuff to me even though it was really busy.
