I went to Annie Hair Braiding to get my hair braided in October 2016.  I explained I wanted mini-indiviuals and wanted to use human hair.  I spoke with the owner, Annie who advised I could purchase the hair from her at $25 per pack of HUMAN HAIR.  She sold me and used VIOLET PREMIUM QUALITY TANGLE FREE HUMAN HAIR VIOLET WET & WAVE BULK 1B she also used 'ashes' to braid my hair. When I questioned why she was using ashes in my hair she stated because she was using 'human hair' and my hair was 'fine'. She stated the ashes would keep the hair from sliding. Within 4h my scalp was on fire. I thought because I have never been to this shop perhaps it was too tight and I needed to let my hair loosen.  I tried taking benedryl and using a cool rag.  Then I tried using hydrocortisone and the braid spray she sold me and got no relief.  I used the ACV Solution and cool showers with no relief.  At 24h my scalp was worse with no relief and hurt to touch. At 48 hours my scalp was burned raw and I had to seek medical treatment.  I was having an allergic reaction to the ashes and I removed the braids and found my scalp was literally burned.  I have called several braid salons and can find none who can explain this "ashes' technique or any that are even familiar with using ashes to braid hair.  The salon owner refuses to refund my money.  I paid her $185 for the braid service plus an additional $75 for 3 packs 'human hair' in good faith which I have found out is a 'Human Hair Blend".  She is causing harm to consumers and this practice needs to be corrected.  BUYER BEWARE

I called Annie at 6pm 11/2/2013 to set my appointment and to get a quote. She quoted me $170 for long Solange braids down to my butt. I was also informed that she only accepted cash as a form of payment. Fast forward to this morning 11/3/2013, I arrived at 9am and waited 15 minutes for Annie because she was out when she told me she was in the shop. I didn't mind waiting because I didn't live far anyway. The shop looked horrible. It was untidy and outdated. I won't even mention the bathroom.

When Annie arrived, I showed her a photo of what I wanted and even brought a braid that I had from the last install and explained thoroughly what I wanted. All of sudden her price went from $170 to $190. Mind you, I never paid that much for the same style before and the only reason I came to Annie is because my regular shop switched locations and I have limited transportation. Annie's was convenient and rumored to be less pricey. I told Annie how much I paid before and threatened to walk out and she gave in.

When she started on my hair I noticed she was moving rather quickly so I questioned her and she claimed to be "really" fast so I asked to look in a mirror just to make sure and noticed she was making my parts big with thick braids. I told Annie that I was not seeking the poetic justice braided look and asked if she could make my parts smaller with less hair. SHE KEPT DOING WHAT SHE WANTED ANYWAY. I told her that I was leaving because I had to remind her twice to do my hair the way I wanted. Annie got angry and demanded I pay her $180 for a half done head anyway and when I told her I wasn't paying for a half done head, either she start over or I take my hair out and leave and she STILL tried to demand me to pay her, stepping in my way trying to block the door like I was going to walk out. The nerve of her. She also told me I was wasting her time when I was the only head being done at the time. She could've started over because there wasn't much in. I wasn't about argue with her loud unprofessional tacky self so I took my hair down and left.

Annie was very rude, unprofessional and her customer service skills are horrible. The nerve of her when her shop is a run down hole in the wall. She also has an F rating on the BBB which I wish I could've seen earlier before I wasted my time. Please stay away. Go somewhere else if you can.

They are AMAZING. They are willing to open earlier for ur convenience. They're very friendly. I have been going to them for over 3years. I went yesterday @915 and was out by 4- with 5 other ppl getting their hair done. My kinky twists look sooo good. Im always satisfied beyond expectations.
