We got there at 6am and waited in line until opening, they let us in and had us pull forward. We waiting 9 hours until we were able to take the test. Workers are very slow. The workers did nothing for a good 2 hours while we were there, they sat inside and would occasionally come outside for a smoke break, definitely would not recommend this place from my experience...

This is the best DMV I have ever been to. The employees have been great to work with.  They are compassionate yet professional while working with them.  This is the second time I have gone there.  Both times I was astonished by how comfortable they made me feel.

It took over 9 weeks to get my physical license when I transferred my Georgia license to Minnesota. It was filed under my maiden name (married 7 years ago!) and was put it a “non-existent person” file because my verification papers had my married name (duh)- except that handy marriage certificate I provided that showed the name change. I only got back into the processing pile after I went to the Ramsey office and a clerk there called the state to check status and cleared the error. One month after I finally received my card I was back to apply for my CDL. I provided everything they needed. Again. Now it has been another 8 weeks and I don’t have that either. The state claimed they “lost the fingerprint file” when my employer contacted them to find out what was causing the delay. Now I have to go back in person again today to extend the paper version of my license (valid for 60 days) or I can’t work. Gross incompetence at the DMV, both at the office and at state levels. 2 stars simply because they’ve apologized and the computer system isn’t the workers’ fault.

If you can avoid this place, please do. They do not even deserve 1 star!! As soon as my instructor got into my car, she started complaining about the seats and everything else. This lady who is short, chunky & has short red hair has got to be the rudest human being alive. She shouted at me when I was driving & even laughed at some point during our frustrating time together. When I was doing my back up 90 parking, I looked over my shoulder & she had her eyes closed- yes she was sleeping!! PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DON’T WANT YOUR TIME WASTED.

This place deserves a ZERO. Exceptionally rude driving instructors who are apparently miserable with their lame existences. Particularly avoid the short, chunky woman with glasses and dark hair in ponytail who came over and yelled at my daughter and I for accidentally practicing parallel parking in empty part of driving course. The signs saying we couldn’t practice there are NOT visible.  This snotty hostile woman seems to forget that this DMV consistently gets horrible reviews. They managed to lose my daughter’s permit photo after we waited for hours to have it taken. Before acting so uppity, these people should attempt to get their act together. Or else fire their instructors or get them some intensive psychological help. By the way, my daughter PASSED her test in spite of having a miserable experience with these grotesque bullies.
