Story

Argosy Cafe is distinctly Baltimore. Located in the first floor of the Munsey Building, named for Frank Munsey, we have named the restaurant for his weekly pulp magazines. We provide many Baltimore and Mid-Atlantic classics with a twist. Not to mention the coffee, we brew in ways you haven't seen before. So come on in and join us on this adventure, if nothing else it will be delicious.

The food was so good. My favorite was the make your own omelette. Very affordable prices. I was able to get a soy latte, make your own omelette, and a breakfast sandwich for about $20. The soy latte was very good as well. It had a beautiful design on top, that I had only seen in movies. My group and I ended up meeting the owner who was sitting right behind us without us knowing. I had a group of musicians with us. He came up to us and treated us like family, gave advice for places to go, and everything. He was awesome. We went two to three times within the few days we visited. I will be back again!

All I can say is WOW! The food was amazing. I ordered the Fried Chicken and Waffle hash and my friend ordered the Old Bay Biscuits and Chicken Sausage Gravy with cheddar grits. It was one of the best breakfast meals we’ve ever had. We will definitely make a point to stop in the next time we are in Baltimore. The service was great too. A+!

Service was slow, and the waitresses seemed to not know what they were doing. We waited almost 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, and it was cold when it was served. I ordered eggs over easy and the yolks were solid. My wife’s grits were served cold. The waffles from the chicken and waffles tasted like they had been frozen. The waitstaff also messed up the orders of the tables around us. Overall, we will not be returning. I don’t know how this place is rated as highly as it is.

Food was excellent, so let me start there. However, let me go on to the rest of the experience. We visited on a Sunday around noon, we sat down immediately with no wait. That was where the waiting started. It just didn't flow in there at all,they need to create method if they want to be efficient. We enjoyed our meal, but as a prior restaurant employee, we sat a bit more than we felt was necessary. Had to ask for waters 3/4 through our meal, because that was the return visit from the server. A small reform would make it a great place.

Atmosphere was really great. The food was vrry tasty. Servers were attentive but not annoyingly so. Drink specials were good. And we werent pressured to leave when done eating.
