First of all, this review is a total edit from the previous one..... I was originally going to leave the previous review blank but since I felt like I was treated like I'm unreasonable, I have to say this....... I tried to explain to the girl that called me 5 minutes after my review posted in error online that 1) the post was placed in error before I wrote my comments.... I was still writing the review when Google saved it and posted it. So for that part, there was an initial error, and if she could see that, then she probably would have asked me to edit the review instead of repeatedly saying she didn't know why I had written a bad review. My main contention is how we had to wait so long to see the doctor.... I am aware of the policy but I don't agree with it. I have no criticism for the practice itself and its goals and intentions, but I don't agree with waiting over an hour to see the doctor for an examination which lasted just under ten minutes. I have nothing against the doctor or their staff, but I do have to say the way that individual went about handling my review was a little irksome.

I have been seeing Dr. Levine since he was a resident (18+ years). He is knowledgeable and caring and his office staff is thoughtful and efficient. I highly recommend Dr. Levine and Arizona Eye Consultants.

All around excellent experience. The staff were very friendly and professional. My appointment was at 3pm and I was taken to the back for my exam by 3:15pm. Dr. McCafferty was very nice and went out of his way to make me comfortable and taking the time to explain my eye condition and my options. Thank you Arizona Eye Consultant! Margaret Green.

These people were completely unprofessional. I was sent there by my migraine specialist to see if a twitch in my eye might be causing some headaches. They gave me a waiver saying some eye exam was not covered. I elected not to have that procedure since it didn't have to do with my main concern. So I see the doctor who barely talks and completely dismisses everything I say and doesn't even look at what I was there to discuss. He gives me a piece of paper telling me to give it to the receptionist. Once i do that she tells me it will be 30 dollars for my prescription. I told them I didn't want those tests since part of it was not covered and other companies do it for free. But since they already ran my insurance for all the rest of it i couldn't do any of the other tests at a different place so I had my had to get it from them. They were rude and told me it was my fault for not telling the doctor before he started the test(that signed a form saying I didn't want it). I don't care as much about me loosing out on money(even though I'm disabled) as I am upset that they deliberately did a test I didn't want just to bill my insurance and then force my hand into paying to get a prescription that I've never had to before. I tried to talk to the office manager who just started insulting me, saying I would have had to do this anywhere and its standard practice. Even though I had an appointment with another company where I only had to pay 40 for glasses the tests and fitting. Where the 40 was only the warranty, and upgraded lenses.

The quality of the doctors and staff may be good, but be aware it can take a 2 to 3 hour wait to see the doctor. The disrespect shown to patients by overbooking and causing us to give up so much time is inexcusable. Telling a patient when they arrive that there will be a 1-2 hour wait is okay, but when it takes an hour after being dilated and you still have two others in front of you, then you know it is the doctor who is unable to see patients on time. Patients are asked to arrive 15 mins early and are liable for a $25 fee if you don't cancel an appointment in time. What compensation is offered to a patient when the wait times are longer than stated? The reception lobby was so full, I completed my paperwork standing up. To provide enough seating in the patient lobby, the hallway is lined with chairs, I wonder if that is in compliance with fire code? With all of us old people who can't see well, it would be a nightmare if the place ever had to be evacuated. During my wait, I saw one other patient besides myself walk out and at least five other patients waiting near me commented on the lengthy wait. One even missed taking her medication due to the extended waiting times. To top it off, I saw Dr. McCafferty walk in from the street and ask a technician twice if any help was needed and he was told no, that Dr. Levin said things were going okay. That is when I knew they have lost touch with their patients and have become a medical factory. Since they seem to have more business than they can handle, I hope others will only choose this office if they enjoy spending hours waiting, getting their eyes dilated and finally giving up. I would also recommend that this office stop having their staff ask a disgruntled former patient like me if I want to rebook for another time. Why would I want to put myself through this pain again?
