It always takes my breath away.  I love to go in and find my favourite paintings even if I have only got 45 minutes!  The joy that this treasured building is free to enter makes it possible to do this - and makes me so proud.  I used to go straight for the museums…. Till the first time I went in!  I was stunned by the depth of Turner’s paintings and the sheer size of some….. and the way they glow.  Pictures cannot do it justice.  Always try and make time for the gift shop.  Look up at the ceilings…. Look down at the floors.  Magnificent.

This art museum is beautiful, the building and the paintings are great. The gallery is free to visit! They could easily charge £1 or £2 per person entrance fee for maintaining this property and it’s  collections. Anyway, thanks to the British government for being so generous! I would surly recommend this place for any art lovers.

A great place to visit especially for those who is into art.  The national gallery is such a beautiful building and can be visited for free. It is completely accessible with lifts for anyone who needs it, including prams.  Some exhibits can cost money to visit and you should check before you go in case you would like to pay to see something extra.

Thoughts: the gallery entry is free of charge, the building architecture and interior design is amazing, you can get tour guide to explain major paintings and the story behind them. If you are tight on time or not interested in paintings, this gallery can be skipped.  Time: around 2 hours  Children: although children are allowed to enter, I believe that it is not suitable to anyone less than 18 years old as they will be bored since it only presents paintings and nothing else.

I love coming here. It's free to get in, you can get lost walking around the wonderful works of art and see lots of people enjoying themselves. Staff are friendly and helpful. The gallery is in the Centre of London and from there there are so many places to visit. Definitely worth a visit. I will come back many times.

Spent an amazing afternoon here and what a treat to see so many famous works of art. The entrance is free rare in London! . We really enjoyed wandering around taking in the art. Highly recommend.

We’ve had the most wonderful experience at the National Gallery this weekend. The building is amazing, but most of all the personal touch of Alan, who told us everything about the paintings and their history! Alan should be a guide at the museum, his knowledge is amazing and his way of telling about the paintings is remarkable. Thank you for making our day and visit unforgetable!

I love the way the National Gallery have made visits easier by proposing three different routes - the A, B or C.   This makes a visit there more manageable. In the past, I have been somewhat overwhelmed by the vastness of the collections.  The artworks were beautifully displayed but noisy schoolchildren fooling around and amateur artists plonked right in front of some paintings blocking your frontal view tended to mar slightly the wonderful experience.  On the whole, though, it was a wonderful experience.

It was great place. Clean. Beautiful. There were lots of people in there, as aspected. The down side for me was the fact that there was no guide.  I know there are tabs on the wall to explain some of the paintings, however, there were some things that had no explanation and there was no one to guide us.  Overall, it’s a good place to hangout for the weekend.
