These apartments are wonderful to live in--great quality for the affordable price. I have no complaints about my living conditions. Here are a few drawbacks: 1) Due to lack of parking spaces, people park their cars in "no parking" zones. These parked cars obstruct vision of oncoming cars from other side. This can be dangerous if people are speeding along these narrow zones without being cautious about oncoming cars. There are parking spaces, but people just don't want to walk extra to park their cars in spots that might be far away. The management does not take action about illegally parked cars. I have called to complain and was promised by the management that emails would be sent to warn residents from parking in zones that are marked "Tow-away" zones. No such emails were sent out and the problem persists. 2) James in the leasing office is the most courteous, helpful, and kind person. He is welcoming, warm, and patient. I deeply appreciate his work and enjoy our interactions. UPDATE: VJ has been super hospitable and kind recently, so I am grateful for the pleasant exchanges and the extra effort.

My stay here has been quite satisfactory per the unit, size, staff, location and amenities. James and DJ showcased and demonstrated great professionalism and immense knowledge of property management which easily makes them a reliable office staff capable of answering your concerns. James, specifically, was a great help during the application process; very honest and professional. I really liked my unit (2 Bed, 2 Bath). We had an initial pest problem due to the extensive vacancy of the unit but a week's worth of pest control, good hygiene and cleaning resolved that just fine. Our maintenance staff has done a superb job completing any request filed in an exceptionally small time frame. Whilst parking and overal navigation through our small community may prove troublesome at times, it's not at the fault of the office. The neighborhood is generally quiet and diverse. A conversation with my neighbors upstairs resolved the occasional noise and I never had to worry about any vehicle/house burglaries nor did I hear of any from my neighbors. Barely anyone uses the fitness center (at night) so I took advantage of this after work. There could be improvements with parking but it was never an issue with me thanks to the location of my unit. I liked the calming culture at Ashford so much I'm seeking to move into another Radco managed property now that I'm downsizing. If I had an opportunity, I'd recommend the property to friends.

I wish this was a gated community! I felt very unsafe here and the courtesy officer is never in sight. The trash situation is horrible. The bins are always flooded with trash which attracts rodents and pests. Speaking of pest, I cannot believe how many roaches and weird critters can crawl into the apartment, but there is a creek behind the back units which only promotes the bugs.

The staff here is phenomenal. Nice, clean apartments. Pretty convenient location (near 285 and 10 minutes from downtown decatur). Google fiber hookups!!! Overall it's certainly been worth the price.

[UPDATE as of 6/2/2017] I have bumped one star since my last review. When I moved into this complex, it used to be managed by another company. Maintenance was poor and calling the leasing office was pretty useless. Since RADCO took over, I must say I've seen things get better. Since my latest interactions with the leasing office I must say that all of my concerns have been solved. 1) Maintenance is responsive. When you inform them of something, they look at it that same day or the following. 2) I haven't spot many roaches lately. Before it used to be a daily thing. To be fair, they hired a pest company and now charge you $5/mo for it, but I am gladly paying $5/mo to get rid of insects. 3) The issue with the leasing not opening and closing earlier were just two coincidences in a short period of time that were (TBH) poorly communicated to the tenants, but it does not happen often enough to assert the leasing office is "lazy." Overall, even with prices in the area rising, this complex is still affordable, secure, and in a reasonably nice area. Would recommend for someone looking for a place in Decatur. I also have to admit that I wrote the previous review when angry after the leasing office had closed early one day after I left work early specifically to pick up a package. Apparently they only open until 6 PM during daylight savings, which they should fix on Google so people do not confuse the times. I will still keep the old review below, but I am warning you it is highly biased. [OLD REVIEW BELOW] Apartments are nice and newly (2 years ago) renovated. There's a gym, pool (never used it). Close to I-285. Price is not crazy expensive. Maintenance is very poor. They take a long time to fix your issues (if they ever do). There's been a water filtration problem through many of my walls that they never solved. I got tired of asking and left it the way it was. MANY roaches during spring/summer. I had to kill many myself and make sure they didn't get in my apartment, which BTW is on the basement level. About 4 of them actually got in my apartment, but with so many of them out there, you can't live calm. Leasing office is lazy and sometimes decides not to open all Saturday (01/14/2017) or closes earlier than it should. Got here (01/17/2017) at 5:50 PM, after leaving work early and bearing with rush hour traffic just to pick up a package which has been sitting there for 5 days because they decided not to open on Saturday. Then, to my surprise, no one was there and they dutifully hung up the "will return at" poster on the door. Seems like they don't care about people's time. Overall, I would stay for the price, location, and amenities, but forget about getting help from maintenance or finding anyone at the office.
