On 01/08/I8 took my upper denture plate to them to put a tooth back in that had broken off. I still had the tooth (1 tooth) and took it with me for them to repair it. They repaired it and sent me to checkout to pay. The girl went over the bill with me and told me that I owed $79.00 for the repair. I said ok and gave her my credit card. She said sign here, some kind of electronic keypad, so I signed and she gave me a receipt, which I took and stuck in my pocket (never even looking at the receipt), then I said thank you and left. It wasn't until I got my credit card bill 02/12/18 that I noticed that they had charged me $158.00 not the $79.00 she had told me I was to pay. I called them about the bill the next day 02/13/18 and the girl insisted that I had 2 teeth repaired, and that was why it was $158.00. I told her it was just 1 tooth and we went back and forth on the issue. Finally she said she would have someone call me about it the next day. The next day 02/14/18 I did not receive any response from the dental office by 5:00 pm, so I called them and talked to another girl who said she was the manager. Again she insisted that I had 2 teeth repaired and we went back and forth until she finally said she would check with the lab tech and see if he could remember the repair job that was done a month ago. When she returned to the phone she told me the lab tech said he put one tooth that I had brought in back in the plate and that he also fixed one that was loose. This was the first time I had ever heard about an additional loose tooth. There was no loose tooth, I would have known if there was. I don't believe he fixed a second tooth at all and I think they just said that to cover themselves, because at checkout, a loose tooth or a second tooth repair was never even mentioned, even though she was very specific explaining the bill to me and made it a point to over every detail about what they had done and then told me my bill was $79.00. Quote: "The total amount you owe for today is $79.00". If something other than what I requested to have fixed was done, I think I would have been made aware it. Someone made a billing mistake and now they refuse to own up to it, or they are just trying to rip me off by charging double. Either way I am going to dispute this with my credit card company, they will get my overcharged money back and credit my account, that's one of the perks of using a credit card.

Spent an hour and half listening to the sales speech of what all I need to do to my teeth. ( I only asked for a tooth to be pulled.). After hearing the sales speech and blah blah blah, I had to schedule another date to return for the extraction that I called about originally because they didn't have time to do it then, however had they not spent the time trying to sell my something I obviously didn't ask for they could have pulled the tooth and not got this kind of review. Perhaps giving the consumer what they asked for should be something to consider in the future?

I waited 30 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. The team was polite but the actually dentist was rude and condescending. I do not have insurance therefore I do not go to the dentist regularly. I needed a filling that had fallen out fixed. He asked my why I was there since I could not remember when my last appointment was and when I told him it was bc I had a filling fall out, he replied "so if it wasn't for that you wouldn't even be here." Then asked me if having teeth was important to me. After examining me and not fixing my tooth he tells me all the previous work I've had done is not good and needs to be redone. They quoted me over $4,000 for all the work I needed done. I will not be back. UPDATE: They have called me every day since I left this review. I had to block their number.

The office personnel didn't follow correct procedures for pre-approval with my insurance carrier and I got stuck with huge out-of-pocket expenses. I sought a second opinion from another dentist and was a told that much of the work Aspen said I needed actually did not need done. (more extractions and an expensive bridge, removal and replacement of existing fillings.) I needed to have a tooth extracted, via general anesthetic, but office personnel failed to obtain correct approval for that from my family doctor and I had to suffer through the extraction by local (needles and Novocain) anesthetic. My "treatment plan" is currently on hold, pending an investigation by my dental insurance carrier. On the good side, the dentists that worked on me were efficient and had good "chair side manner". I guess my gripe is more with Aspen's financial policies and procedures, pushing the patient to make on the spot decisions as to their need for certain treatment without insurance approval.
