We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with referral practices when very special diagnostic procedures are required. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area and a sophisticated dental suite including digital radiography. We have extensive endoscopic capabilities and provide on-site ultrasonography that is always available.
All procedures requiring anesthesia are accompanied by intravenous catheter insertion and maintenance to provide continual fluid support. We utilize heated operating tables and carefully monitor anesthesia with ECG readings, pulse oximetry, capnography and blood pressure measurements. All animals undergoing surgery in the surgical suite are additionally supported during anesthesia by the use of a respirator, thereby ensuring that the longest procedures are as safe as the shortest procedures.
We have a controlled environmental suite that delivers continual measured amounts of oxygen, heat and nebulization for those patients that require such care. Whole blood is almost always available and on-site blood typing is performed to prevent mismatching. Long term respirator care, along with continual supervision, is available for the most difficult cases.
