Story

Serving traditional Greek-Mediterranean dishes made from the freshest ingredients. Also on the menu, fresh whole fish, chargrilled to perfection, basted with imported olive oil and lemon. Must tries are the combination plate with a little bit of everything and the Spanakopita, fresh spinach, herbs and imported feta cheese, baked in a crusty fillo dough.
So come and join us for lunch or dinner, we are BYO and have outdoor seating.(weather permitting)

Waiter seemed genuinely put out that we were there. Grumbled every time he walked past us. They were out of all pasta, and grape leaves. The octopus was the only redeeming quality, and it was delicious!!

Sadly the food service was slow and the meat in my dish was dry and crispy (vs juicy and delicious). Was here several years ago and it was awesome. They were out of main dishes ordered by our party though it was early in the evening. And my plate was greasy on the bottom as if it went through a half cycle. Very disappointed.

Greek Greatness is the only way I can describe this unassuming little gem.  I have been patronizing this restaurant for more than 10 years and even though I now live 2 hours away, I always come back when I am visiting in the area.  I dined here just last weekend and it was as good as always.
So, Athena is in a small strip mall but it is what's inside that matters.  My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the appetizer plate.  You get dolmades, feta, and 4 spreads, including hummus, babaghanoush, tzatziki,  and THE most delicious dip that I cannot find anywhere else, Kefteri.  All of this comes with fresh, homemade warm pita.  This appetizer is large and easily serves as an entree but could serve 3-4 as an appetizer.   The shish-ka-bob is seasoned nicely and the Greek salad is light and fresh.  My only complaint is the lone waiter, who just seemed disconnected and not really interested in being there.  The food allowed me to overlook this but I can see how this could be an issue for some patrons.   The chef really knows Greek food and the best news is that visitors to this establishment reap the benefits!!!  Yummy.
