Came here as a referral from a co-worker and I'm so happy I did! Tom explains everything thoroughly and I was so confident in his work. I had a terrible experience at the last dentist I went to who told me I had 8 cavities. Came here for a second opinion consult and I only had 3 minor cavities and they were completed right after my consult. Will be back and will definitely reccomend to others.

I feel like the staff here is super friendly and they make sure you understand everything they’re doing or offering you

I always come here for my clean up every 6 months, and I would totally recommend this place

It was my first time to visit the dentist since moving to Canada, and I had such a GREAT experience here! Taylor was very thorough with explaining everything that had to be done, and she was so nice and kind! The staff was so friendly as well. Highly recommended!

I met DR.TOM KARKANIS at this location and because my dates didn't match , I had to go see him at the Cambie location. I discussed all the cosmetic procedures I wanted to have done and booked! On the day I went to get everything done, he had no clue why I was there, he was like what are we doing again ?
Anyways he put so much freezing in my mouth, that in his own words " I have given you so much freezing that I would give someone who wants to pull out their wisdom teeth"
I couldnt feel up to my eyes. ZERO feeling.

Be ready for what you are about to read now:
He was working on me and all of a sudden , while I am laying there all frozen and my mouth open with a million things in there, he is like OMG OMG! HE DRILLED INTO MY TONGUE!
with the electric drill, he drilled my tongue. I got such a shock in my system because I couldnt feel anything but the reaction of him and his assistant , I thought they cut off my tongue.
My entire back and upper neck went in shock and that was on Tuesday, I still cant move my neck nor my back.

Then he said that my tongue needs stitches, and so he started injecting my tongue with freezing. I could feel this terrible pain down my throat and he then finished everything and gave me a mirror to see my teeth. There was a MASSIVE hole in my tongue.

He told me that my tongue was wiggly!!!! I told him i cant feel a thing, I cant even feel my face, that is your duty to protect my mouth and my tongue. I cant see or feel a thing. They called it an accident. This could have been 100% prevented.The board of BC confirmed there are many tools to keep the tongue back in place.

if you think they gave me aftercare , NO! if you think they called to see how I am ? NO.
If you think he had me pay ? YES!

I am super traumatized , and my body went in such a shock that I left there and outside their office , I started throwing up in the garbage can by best buy. I drove there, but I had to tell my friend to come and get me because I was super fainty.

I couldn't eat for 3 days, I couldn't go to work, I lost money here and there for things I had committed to but simply could not attend because of the amount of pain i was in. My neck and back are still locked and it is Thursday now, and all the time the images pop in my head.

I called the Board of Dentistry of BC and they said that if he had hit a nerve, I could have :
1. gone paralyzed in my face for life
2. lost speech for life

On top of all, my teeth don't even look good. The procedure was $2000,and they do not look much different at all. They also forgot to check my bite which I have to go back to their office and have that checked and fixed. My bite is not good at the moment, but I am seeing a different Doctor.
They refunded my insurance for me to keep quiet i am sure. I am getting a lawyer, because I am worried this happens to someone else.

I am fully traumatized! I went to this Dr. based on yelp reviews. DO NOT make my mistake.
