Attic Books

Story

Attic Books is one of Canada's largest antiquarian and second-hand bookstores. We have three floors of books, maps, prints, paper collectibles, such as ephemera and postcards, and eccentric antiques that appeal to readers, scholars and seasoned collectors alike. We also retail Colour by Schubert's photo cards and Charles Van Sandwyk's Fine Art Cards and Books. The atmosphere is spacious, bright, relaxed and professional, not to mention architecturally beautiful, with its original tin ceilings, hardwood maple floors and all the charisma of a century building. This, along with the help of our friendly and knowledgeable staff, will ensure that every visit to Attic Books will be memorable.

Large used book store. I can always find something to buy when I walk in. The owner also has connections to source vintage or truly unique books. Good prices and a large collection to look through. Parking right out front.

Attic Books is my all time favourite bookstore and I am a bookstore ghost, haunting bookstores wherever I go! The store has an immense selection, capturing topics both maintstream and esoteric. Books are sold at reasonable prices; I usually walk out with at least one or two each time I go. In addition, Attic sells postcards from all over the world. The postcards are individually marked and offer remarkable imagery. I commend the person who organized the postcard section. The staff are knowledgable and kind. It is a pleasure to chat with them. There is also a "sale" section downstairs in the basement. However, I sometimes find the staircase a bit difficult so I do not go down there much. Maybe one day, they will install a chair lift or elevator. All in all, Attic Books is to be highly commended for their staff, their selection and their fairminded approach.

I instantly feel calmer just walking through the door. The atmosphere is that of an old, comfortable library. Wonderful selection of books, and welcoming staff.

Incredible bookstore, even has some really awesome historical books that would interest collectors. When I was there last, they had a couple of books that were a few hundred years old on display. Worth checking out if you're a book lover in the area.
