We stayed here for 2 nights, we looked for a campsite for about 1 hour and finally got one as someone was leaving, and we were there during the peak season so it really was not that bad considering the time we went! The campsite is pretty much rustic and the sites are close together, but the Park Rangers in this campground were VERY helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Beware that the restrooms DO NOT have lights in them, so you will need to bring one with you when you go. This is the perfect campground if you want to do any hikes around Avalanche Creek, or catch the shuttle across the Going-to-the-Sun Road for any other adventures. Totally worth it.

Great campground. Was very busy but still nice and quiet. Clean washrooms and a great view. would definitely come back if we were in the area.

What to like: Peaceful setting, close proximity to Trail of the Cedars and Avalanche Lake hikes, supplies and restaurants are 10 min away at Lake McDonald Lodge, nice tenting sites, flush toilets, shuttle service nearby to get you to Logan Pass, camp hosts are nice but strict, people are usually quiet and well behaved. What not to like: get here early (before 9am) to guarantee a site, no showers, no power in the washrooms, no mountain biking trails Notes: keep your food put away or risk a fine (or a visit from a bear or deer), nearby hiking trails are very popular

Great short hike to the lake. Very busy place.

We showed up at 7:30am and were able to get a spot. It was probably filled by 8:30. Very quiet despite being a full campground, tucked in the trees, flush toilets. We were able to get our 18ft travel trailer in, no problem.
