Welcome to AVL Animal Hospital.

AVL has been providing quality pet care to Hemet, Idyllwild and the entire San Jacinto Valley since 1972.

AVL Animal Hospital is located in Valle Vista in a very tranquil area surrounded by lovely green trees and citrus groves. The park-like setting provides a soothing environment for both you and your pet when visiting Dr. Johnson and his caring staff.

We hope you will enjoy the rural location and quality veterinarian services of the vet in the groves.

Finding a vet you trust is a priority for your precious pet. When I moved here four years ago I went to one vet and was shocked at the Drs attitude. Then I tried AVL and I don't think I could find a Dr. more trustworthy vet than Dr. Johnson. He takes time to listen and it is obvious how much he loves animals. He never pushes to do procedures just to make extra money. That in itself speaks volumes of his honesty and integrity. I don't understand how people are saying the staff are rude. They are wonderful. Even if I want advice over the phone a technician willingly helps me with any questions. The only problem I've had is with 'The Circle of Life' Cremation' next door. I was appalled by the uncaring staff. My precious Pomerania passed in my arms at home he was 15 years old. He was my first dog and I chose cremation. The morning I called at 9am crying, they told me to put him in a cool dark place. When I told them that was unacceptable, no one would tell you to put your relative in a closet, It doesn't get any worse than that. They finally let me take him in and I can't stress enough how disgusted I was treated when I arrived with my precious baby still on my arms. When they gave me the certificate it had the wrong date of birth. Totally unacceptable when they should know the grief we go through. I would drive many miles to avoid this awful facility.
