The atmosphere is nice. As well as the price but that’s about it. The food we got was pretty bad. I got basic nachos and the meat was disgusting. It tasted like there was no seasoning on it at all. The service was even worse. The restaurant was relatively empty and we waited a good while for our food. When we wanted the check it took FOREVER for someone to come by our table. And then once we got the check, it took even longer for someone to take our payment. We realized all of th employees were sitting at an empty booth in the back talking amounts themselves instead of doing their jobs.

Best Mexican Restaurant in the Upstate! We eat here 2-3x a week and we've never been disappointed. Kate works in the front and she's always friendly! If you've never tried Azteca, I strongly suggest that you do!

The food was good, as was the service.  My hubby and I dropped by for lunch.  This has been a location for several "Mexican" restaurants.  We often visited the first one to be established in this location but moved from the area.  We happened to be working in Mauldin and dropped in to see if there was anything that absolutely stood out and separated it from any of the other Tex-Mex restaurants and while, as stated the food and service was good, there was nothing that was particularly special that popped out, made our taste buds want to dance the hat dance  or struck us a spectacular.  Don't take this wrong.  It was a nice place to drop in for lunch.  You'll get decent food for a ...well... the price is in line with all of the others and the service is decent too.  If you're expecting to run about town talking about the best thing that you've ever eaten, well..... you'd be over-stating just a bit.  If you want to fill your tummy that's different than a burger but pricier than the McD's next-door, you'll have a happy tummy and, as to be expected from a sit down restaurant, skinnier wallet.  You won't be disappointed but you won't be wowed.

Azteca is probably one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Greenville area....and I know good Mexican food after living in the southwest for many years.  Very fast service, festive decor and great margaritas!
