The meal and service was good. But when we went to pay, we found out the gift card we found in the bottom of our gift card drawer had expired many years ago. We had no clue that AZUR had time limits on there gift cards. This was a very disappointing surprise. We had found the gift card under a phone book and were very excited to go out for dinner on a crappy Monday night. The manager had the choice to take the card and make sure we had a great evening, or he could ruin the experience and stick to the rule and piss us off. He went with the later. Poor managing on his part. How easy is it to win back customers you have pissed off? It was not like they were losing money. They were paid $50 many years ago. They had the money in the bank. He could have even said that he would use the card for what we owed and the remaining balance would be forfeited. But he had to be a policy guy. A policy guy that will never see our money again.

I went home and checked our other remaining gift cards. And out of the 50+ cards we had in the drawer, 4 had gone out of business and AZUR was the only that had a expiration date on it. It is very said that that a local business has this type of policy. I guess it is about greed rather than the customer experience.

AZUR you got to keep our $50 as pure profit. That card was given to us by a family member as an anniversary gift. When do you think we will be returning? Do you think we will ever want to celebrate a special occasion at your place of BUSINESS? How many people do you think I will share this story of our experience? I hope the $50 was well invested. That was the last money you will see from our family.

We made reservations for 4 during the EatLex event.  The menu is limited for this event, but with the low cost, it is to be expected.  We were greeted, offered drinks, and cornbread was brought to the table.  After a few moments, the waiter took our order (four event dinners, two with appetizer, two with desert) and left to place it with the kitchen.  The appetizers came fairly quickly, and we split them among the four of us.  They were very good (oysters Rockefeller and Pimento nuggets), and were consumed quickly.  Dinner took a bit of time, but that is to be expected when you order fried chicken.  Three of us ordered the chicken and the other Pot Roast.  The food was Excellent.

This is where the evening deteriorated.  The waiter disappeared.  Water glasses remained empty, dirty dishes started piling up to the point that a manager stopped to collect some of them.  Still no waiter.  About 20 minutes later the waiter returned, filled the water glasses, and started collecting dishes.  We requested to go boxes for the remaining chicken, and each plate was removed, and extra food returned.  He then took the orders for desert(bread pudding and peach blueberry cobbler, both very good) and left again.  5 minutes later he arrived with the desert, and within a minute or two, the checks.  Had the restaurant been busy, I could have forgiven the bad service, but it was 7 pm on a Saturday, and the dining area was only about 2/3 full.  No excuse for this level of service. 

During the entire evening, live music was playing.  It was so loud, conversation was very difficult.  The musician was good, just too loud.  I can honestly say I will not return if live music is provided.
 
I know that Azur is a high end restaurant and a $20.00 meal is not the target audience this place is aiming to entice.  However, if you are going to offer an introductory special, I assume you want these customers to return.  Bad service and loud music is not the way to earn my business.  

On a separate note, I have eaten here several times, and have always had great service and a nice atmosphere for my meals.  This is the first time I have been in on a Saturday evening, and it will probably be the last.

Been going to this restaurant for years and it keeps getting better. Same for last Sunday night. Close to a number of local motels. If I was staying at one I would sure give it a try, you won't regret it.

I went there an hour before closing time. Nobody acknowledged me at the door, I had to go up to the bar. The food is really good, but they didn’t offer me a drink while I was waiting for my food.

Everything is good, but the service can definitely improve.

Never was a fan of Brussel sprouts. Now I can't get enough of them! My wife and I definitely will be back. Portion size was amazing, the wait staff was amazing, the entire experience was overall very satisfying. Highly recommend this place.
