Story

BAKERY by frothy monkey {formerly Bella Nashville} is a full service bakery in East Nashville that bakes bread and pastries daily. Our retail location offers a walk up counter where baked goods are available as well as a menu of bakery inspired breakfast and lunch items. We also have a menu of bakery focused breakfast and lunch items, some grab and go and some made to order. All items are packaged to go

All of our bread and pastries are available for wholesale and can currently be found at various restaurants around Nashville. We also offer catering and special orders. Please contact [email protected] for catering and wholesale information.

Frothy Monkey also has four full service restaurants in the Nashville, TN area where we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Frothy Monkey is made up of creative folks using quality ingredients (local whenever possible) to prepare original food served in an approachable atmosphere.

I visited here on a Sunday and was very pleased that it was open and with fairly regular hours. It's always frustrating when coffee and food places are always closed on Sundays, as if we're all just hibernating on a Sunday. I ordered a latte, it was great, very clean and with the right ratio of coffee to foam. I also ordered a ham and cheese on baguette, which was great. Very high quality ingredients, which was noticeable with each bite! My only complaint is that it took a lot longer than I expected to make a coffee and a sandwich (minus one 🌟), but I would still come back for the quality.

I thought I'd gotten used to how painfully slow this place is, so slow that I get drip coffee rather than my preferred latte. Today, though, I finally lost my patience and left after waiting 5 minutes and not even getting an acknowledgement, a "Hey, I'll be right with you" from the woman behind the counter (there was only one person ahead of me). I like their coffee but not enough to reward lax customer service. I'm done with this location.

The service was horrible and the Asian female working the counter had no interpersonal skills whatsoever. When greeted and asked how she was doing (9:00 a.m. on a Sunday), she simply stared at us and did not say one word. There were three employees with the same blank expression and no personality. The negative millenial vibe was off-putting enough that we will not return. On a positive note, the beverages and baked goods were really good.
