I feel a bit naive because I didn't know that bad vets exist (SPOILER ALERT: They do. They work here. All of these vets are bad) . I thought that in signing up for the Health Plan (SPOILER ALERT: Don't buy it. It's absolutely a trap) we we're saving money in the long run and doing our best for our puppy. Well, we are locked into a contract and the problems are endless. 1. Misdiagnosis that costs more money for us and more pain for the dog: Dog scratches herself like crazy. We report it to the vet. He says it's fine. It worsens so we go back. Different vet says shampoo irritant. We switch, no improvement, we go back. This time, the dog an awful looking rash all over her stomach. Different vet says it's an infection caused by (guess what) all the scratching. Prescribes an antibiotic and anti-itch, cost not covered in plan. Says food allergy. Good thing we're already purchased 50 pounds of it. 2. Side Effects Not Explained: At home, we start the meds and see an almost immediate potty training regression. We go in to vet and get a litany of side effects listed to us only after we beg (increased urination included). Go figure. Took dog in for routine vaccinations and they rushed her to the back w/o letting us talk to a vet. They were busy. Appointments don't matter. Health Plan matters less. I could go on.

ALWAYS A VERY LONG WAIT . I have had my dog on Banfield since he was a puppy . Anytime something serious is needed to be done Banfield refers you so you end up paying extremely ridiculous specialist fees . I moved my dog from Coral Gables Banfield as I was so extremely disappointed and unsatisfied . This Banfield Program seems great in theory but when you have such a high turnover of staff - the doctors and nurses CONSTANTLY change there is no rapport left . Whenever you take your dog here they always encourage dropoff appts - My dog has been there since 8AM this morning it is now 4:37 PM ,and he still hasnt received vacs . If the hospital is too full then get more staff or take less appts . I feel like this is more a volume pushing program than it is a personal , caring environment . I will be cancelling my plan and taking him to another vet which I use because i dont trust Banfield and their diagnosis . Very disappointed AGAIN ! This program is great in concept but needs alot of improvement .

I scheduled an appointment first time in the morning to get a health certificate for travel for my dog. When I got there they told me I would have to drop him off because they "take their time to do the examination and fill in the paperwork correctly". After 3 hours my dog was not ready yet because they said the doctor who was seeing him was doing surgery and the other doctor was working on other appointments. I have done this paperwork before at other Vets and they do it within an hour max, and they do it in front of you with no need to "drop off and come back later". They are clearly overbooked. I will never come back to this place for anything.

We stopped going there. We use to have a great vet there named Dr. Duke, but she moved to Broward. Our initial experiences were pretty good with her. We had the puppy plan, which is an inexpensive way to get vaccinations done. However, after Dr. Duke left our experiences started to go downhill. We had to wait long even when we had appointments, every time we went it seemed to be a new vet seeing our dogs, we always had to explain everything that was happening (they don't look at their files), we did a couple of drop off for treatments and never received updates until we called. This place may seem like a deal for the price, but avoid yourself the headache. There are other better options in the area. Fortunately, we never had anything really bad happen to us here. We have heard some real horror stories about this place though.

I think the vets are very loving and great but I think the corporation of Banfield overcharges or they don't know how much they need to charge. For example, I was charged $240 for a health certificate for my dog to travel to Sweden, even though the Swedish government doesn't require all the tests that Banfield claims that is needed. I hate putting my dog through unnecessary stress. On top of that, my dog already had a pet passport from Sweden. She didn't need a fecal exam and whatever else they said she needed. The same health certificate cost me $35 in Sweden to travel to the US and no useless exams on my dog.
