In the heart of the U of W and WLU District. Bao specializes in the concept of Vietnamese subs and Taiwanese steamed buns, known as Bánh Mì and Gua Bao.
Bao Sandwich Bar takes on a modern approach to a variety of Asian cuisines, focusing on traditional staple foods. Originating in the late 19th century, bánh mì was a product of French colonialism, by bringing together the french baguette with native Vietnamese ingredients. Gua Bao, on the other hand, is Taiwan’s "go to" street food, beloved for its flavors and textures.
This food style has since exploded to "foodie" culture through increased exposure. At Bao, we make our own staple ingredients. By combining one with another, we have created our own variations of flavorful sandwiches to introduce to the community.
We are constantly innovating, and will be introducing a diversity of cuisine through our snacks and sandwiches. At Bao, we strive to create awareness and excitement for our food to the surrounding community.
