Service has been great any time Ive gone. The food is exactly what you would expect (which is a good thing!) its tasty & comes fairly quickly at most times of the day. Just be careful going on weekend mornings / early afternoons. The uni students take over

My family and I have enjoyed coming to Mel's Diner over the past 6 years, primarily for breakfast. The food quality can depend a bit on the chef on staff. I'd give this place 4 stars for friendliness of staff, price, overall quality, *except* for this one complaint: temperature! The temp in this place is SO cold that I just want to leave even in the summer when A/C would normally be a relief. It's like sitting in a fridge trying to enjoy your food as the cold air wafts around you. If I remember ahead of time, I bring a coat to go to Mel's in the summer heat!!

Meant to post this a while back but for some reason didn't show up. Used to be an awesome place. We are both busy professionals and would come here often. But then they changed the menu and took off literally all the best stuff  they had....all of it. And since then the food quality has been marginal and the dishes are meh .. too bad it was great but now we go elsewhere.

I think it depends entirely on who's cooking. 
 There's some days where my meals are perfect & others where it's not. I usually get a sandwich, since you can't really screw that up. I used to get the breakfast but not anymore, since my eggs are always runny & barely cooked + the bacon is always burnt.
