We were told we would get 30% off a set of books, but when we went to check out the manager turned us down. I was with my 5 yo brother and 9yo niece, they were all excited and we spent an hour picking out the books we  were going to get. They do not stay true to their word, I am very disappointed. I will take my business elsewhere.

Thanks to the unpleasant and rude manager at this café, I don't even want to walk into another starbucks let alone a Barnes & Noble again. My sister and I had grabbed some cookies at Nestlé right around the corner and went to sit in the café to eat them. We have been doing this since we were little kids with our mother, so it's almost like a tradition. We were sitting at a table on the very edge of the café quietly talking and eating our cookies. We weren't loud or causing a scene. I saw the manager turn around the corner and look at my sister and I, turn back around to say something to another coworker, then continue to walk in our direction. He arrives at the table and tells us "Um hi. I'm the manager of this café and I'm going to need to ask you to leave the store. We do not allow competitors products in our café." I wouldn't have had such a problem with this if he hadn't have spoke in such a rude and demeaning manner. As if I'm a complete idiot for doing so and I should know better. My sister was contemplating getting a drink but he made it very easy to take her business elsewhere. Also, I understand asking to leave the café but to kick us out of the store is completely unnecessary and now has costed Barnes & Noble to lose several customers. We have informed our family and friends of this cafés poor customer service and hope they choose to not give them their business as well.
