Very interesting experience, definitely not just a bookstore. The most important piece is definitely the ability to leave comments all over the bookshelves, most notably on the ones downstairs. It's an analogue message board! Come here to play a game of chess, relax on oddly shaped sofas, or read from a vastly irregular collection of books. When I came at around 9pm on a Monday, it was a sparsely populated environment, one that was peaceful and aestheticly pleasing.

Great selection of new and used books and CDs, three floors of well-organized and curated treats for the brain. The owner has crammed every nook with literature and music, with the top floor also serving as a space for readings and live music. My only concern is that the main floor has book shelves to the ceiling, so you have to look at the top shelves by climbing a library ladder. It was worth the effort, though.

Uniquely chaotic atmosphere crowded with a diverse selection of books. The books seem to be very loosely arranged in any kind of order. This is a good place if you're looking for antique books or anything else you can't ordinarily find in a conventional bookstore. They buy, sell, AND trade books. There's even a slot where books are free for anyone to take on the way out. The flooring is uneven, watch your step. Decent seating accommodations for just light reading and hanging out. The flooring and stairs seem a bit unsteady. Staff are quite friendly. There's a minibar/cafe upstairs that seems to be inactive. One bathroom...Dish soap for hand washing O_o

Fun place to step into to peruse all kinds of books. Prices are ok, staff are nice, and the atmosphere is fun. My favorite is the downstairs, but there's three different levels.

Quality store! I made three great purchases recently: Smithsonian's History of the World in 1000 Objects; The History of Impressionism by John Rewald (the definitive reference on this art movement); and Wesley the Owl, the charming story of an owl raised from infancy by the author, Stacey O'Brien. Don't miss the gems at Prospero's!
