Story

Basin 141 is a neighborhood watering hole conceived in the hearts and minds of brothers Dave and Joe Friedman. A Social House of sorts, developed to celebrate the cultural diversity, rich history, and the proud spirit of Los Angeles. Having spent most of their adult lives perfecting and fine-tuning their skills as managing bartenders in the Los Angeles area, it was only a matter of time before the duo would create a place they could call their own. To help reach their lofty goals they partnered up with two long time Montrose locals, Eric Steele and Nigel Burns, who helped propel Basin 141 from dream, to reality. Sharing the same vision, the Basin team developed an interior design that not only incorporates vintage materials and style, but also adds new age materials to create a warm inviting environment that will welcome its patrons with unparalleled distinctiveness.


The concept of Basin 141 is very straightforward. The philosophy dates back to the early days of Los Angeles when guests were warmly greeted, service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. It is with this simple, yet important approach that the theme of Basin 141 was developed. Basin 141 claims its identity on the roots of the Los Angeles basin, which showed a population of 141 people on the first ever-recorded census in the early 1800’s. With roots set this deep in the history of the early days, Basin 141 will deliver the quaint, historical city of Montrose an environment unlike anything this neighborhood community has ever experienced.
