Our resort is situated on a 73-acre country estate with beautifully secluded, lakeside lodging, campsites and wonderful amenities for all ages.

Story

Basswood Resort is the perfect place to spend your next family vacation. In fact, families have been coming to Basswood for decades to enjoy the peaceful seclusion you can only find here. Be a part of our history that includes such names as Bing Crosby and others.

Our resort is a combination inn and campground. We offer apartment style rooms, cabins and several different types of RV sites. Our amenities include a swimming pool, playground, planned activities, themed weekends and so much more. We hope you'll come see us soon!

We have stayed in just about every type of cabin & suite they have at basswood and absolutely adore this resort! The outside is kept nice as well as the cabins. The workers are pleasant and very accommodating. At Christmas they have cute blow up christmas decor at the entrance, even the suit we are staying in has a tree and decor throughout. In the summer the pool and splash pad are kept up nice and we always enjoy them! They also have multiple fishing ponds, a dog park, an outside movie theatre & a game room! Our kids have a blast bringing their scooters to scoot around on. Lots of hills! I highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a country stay, with quick access to the city!

Basswood resort has a beautiful Missouri setting. Nice resort with paved roads, outdoor facilities, playground for the kids and plenty of walking paths. Nice staff along with daily resort maintenance. Plenty of space for the day or to stay awhile.

The trip was great. I read the reviews and was worried. Upon arrival I was impressed, then I pulled up at camp site A for tents. It was a tight fit with steep sleeping. After one night In walked around and found some much better camping areas. After asking they happily and graciously moved me to another camp area. It was great and roomy. Three bathrooms are clean and nice. I enjoyed the showers and the playground. We tried the shuffleboard and had a good time. The cabins that were used by part of our group were really a pleasure to stay in. The hiking trail had several trees blocking the path, so some work on it would be great. Our group had a great time fishing and enjoying the pleasure of the woody camping areas. The store is fun too. Fix the trail and I would give it a five. Just don't camp in tent site A!

Not a bad place to stay if you're looking to a) park overnight on your way to another destination or b) you love to fish. The fishing lake is well-stocked and I know fishermen who love it. For staying to camp for a weekend, I'm not too thrilled with it. The sites are too close together

It was decent, very crowded during the summer weekends. They put in effort to keep it clean and fun. The full time Lot is gross though, I called poop lane because on walks all I could smell was their septic tanks. That said the pond is cute, everything is cute, but it’s not REALLY outdoorsy. Adequate unless you’re used to state parks. I’d say it’s better than a KOA though.
