Visit on the week of MLK 2016, as a gift for my husband. It was great! All u can hav coffee and tea, and snacks. Very cozy, clean, and quiet. Not much 2 do if there is not alot of snow. Places 2 eat is limited but still a great place. We ate at the Lambs Creek with out $10 off coupon and food was great, very filling. A must see is the Grand Canyon!

If you are looking for a very scenic place to stay in a 'small' town, Wellsboro PA is the place to go. If you would like that luxury atmosphere in an upscale mountain home where every detail is important for those that stay there, then Bear Mountain Lodge (1, 2 or 3) is the place to stay. No doubt about it. As a couple, we enjoyed the fruit, cheese & cracker plate - more that enough! and an airplane ride over 'The Grand Canyon' of Pennsylvania - breathtaking view, a movie at an old style theater in town, the Wellsboro Diner for breakfast, The Gas Light Bar & Grill, a 24 mile ride on the local train (not recommended for people who like to travel more than 10 miles an hour) and, just as much as everything else, we enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of the people! At Bear Mt Lodge, Sherri was our 'house mother' - very conversational and helpful. We could not have had better people to stay with. Heck, the whole trip was down to earth and wonderful. My husband John and I both look forward to going again next year. So much more to do in Wellsboro than we thought! We missed the Covered Wagon ride down the bottom of the canyon but it is on our list for next year. One thing I would suggest - take the Wagon ride before you go up in the plane. Call Carol at the Covered Wagon place to make sure there's room at the time you prefer to go. Craig at the airport - small yet large and nice - was very accommodating and personable - everyone we dealt with were just so nice! We highly recommend this trip for couples, family or even by yourself. Plenty of everything for everyone.
