I give it 4 stars. 5 stars is perfection.  No one or place is perfect. Debbie in the Blue Clinic, would come closest to getting 5 stars. Other areas of the hospital, would only get 1 star. Vets that have been going there a while know who they are. I appreciate Dr. Peterson and his care for me and Dr. Lewis, that is no longer there. I must give kudos to nurse Janice, in the "B" Clinic. I've been going there over 10 years.

The place is pretty good unless your in a hurry.. emergency room waits are sometimes 6hours. Wow real emergency. How can they even keep it open . Hire more help so customers don't have to sit all day and wait.

I  can only say positive things about the dedicated and caring people at the V.A. Medical Center in Beckley and in Lewisburg. They care about the patients and follow up in quick time. Their referral program could stand some fine tuning but this isn't the personnel at Beckley fault. Knowing what I know now, I would have joined the service just for the great V.A. benefits I receive.

After moving back from Texas where the VA was at least 7 times the size(around 30,000+ a year patients) and waiting for an appointment took weeks, sometimes months; I find that the Beckley  VA is amazing. It may be a little older, and smaller, but I know all my doctors names as they know mine. They pay attention to you as not only a patient, but a person. They always ask about my family or how something went that we discussed before. The staff is usually very pleasant and very prompt when trying to figure out things for you.  I like that i can get an appointment usually the same week if not no more than 7 days. This includes my Primary care, Orthopedics, Mental health. If I need to see someone or talk to them sooner they will usually call me the same day if not the next. I'm aware that everyone's visit aren't as pleasant, but I would like you to think what it would be like a a more occupied center. All in all I have nothing major to complain about. The center is not perfect and i could nitpick little thing, but it's not important. They provide quality care in a timely manner. What else do you need?

I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. The physician's  genuinely care for your well being.
