This was our first lunch on our trip to MV, and it was delicious. Enjoyed a delicious lunch here... mushroom toast. The iced coffee was excellent too. The cafe is located down a pathway full of flowers and herbs behind the bookstore. Tables are outside under a custom awning that feels like you are dining under a piece of art. Look forward to coming back!
Beautiful experience and we enjoyed all of our food. Expectations weren’t met on everything so giving 4/5. Service: Friendly, informed waitress. Attentive runners and bussers. Cocktails: very interesting, some were better than others. Summer Burrata Salad: burrata and toast were delicious but this salad is 90% tomatoes, too many for us. Could have used more oil and maybe a little acid. A Lobster Tale fried lobster: seasoning in the batter takes away from the lobster a little. I was surprised to see that the lemons were also battered. Missed the capers that were supposed to come with. The tarter sauce was amazing. Would have this again. Seared white fish: expected the dish to be more composed instead of just four elements presented separately on the plate. All the elements were tasty and fresh. Couscous was very flavorful but needed a bit of sauce - the pesto was on the plate but too stiff, would have been better if it were thinner and pourable as a sauce. The corn was bright and juicy but there were huge slices of practically raw garlic in it. Very generous portion of fish! Corn had tomatoes in it. Seared Scallop Linguine: I anticipated a sauce with more body since the menu described it as lobster bisque sauce. It was thin and served on a plate of sorts so a little hard to eat. Very good flavor and the three scallops were seared to perfection and wonderful. The pasta itself was over cooked. This dish also had tomatoes. Overall, too many tomatoes, haha! Would likely return. Lovely atmosphere and staff.
Perfection! The food is delicious, everything from the homemade scones to the avocado toast, to the fresh yogurt and granola. And the coffees and lattes are wonderful, hot or cold, and the garden is well spaced out and has a lot of tables and is even covered for a drizzle of rain.
The grilled shrimp was delicious. However, sacrilegious to "batter fry" lobster - don't do that again! Quite fanciful and witty drink menu. The four-legged pepe le pew visitors were totally unexpected; I trust they're tame
My family and I came here for breakfast this morning, thinking that it would be a cute and casual place to enjoy breakfast. However, I was incredibly disappointed with almost everything about this place. The prices were outrageous for what they offered. A greasy breakfast platter was $24 for some fried eggs and sausages with a couple of limp greens for decoration. The food wasn't even served on plates, everything was given in cardboard boxes and plastic cups. My sister ordered the "granola bowl" for $16, and what she received was a little yogurt parfait in a plastic cup that looks like something you'd get for breakfast in a hospital. We ended up paying $100+ for 4 people and it was easily the worst place we went to for breakfast during the 3 days we stayed on the island. The coffee was pretty good, but the chai latte tasted incredibly bland. There was no spice flavor or sweetness, it just tasted like milk. For such high prices, I expected the food to be served on plates at the very least. There was absolutely nothing special other than the atmosphere, but even that was not worth the price tag. I recommend going to Among the Flowers for a similar floral and nature-y atmosphere, and Rosewater Market also has great food and coffee. Do not waste your money here.
My girlfriend and I got breakfast here while on the island, and despite being the most expensive breakfast we've ever had, we had to go back again the next day for more. The mushroom toast was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life. If I ever go back to Martha's Vineyard, getting to eat that mushroom toast again will be a major motivating factor.
Disappointed in dry chicken sandwich and hamburger… both served on dry brioche buns. Maybe Mondays aren’t the best day for eating here… I felt like it was yesterday’s leftovers at outrageously high prices. First time visitors & likely last time here … 2 stars is probably just being generous.
We came here looking for a decent breakfast. We saw the garden setting & thought might be a good place. The girl who took our order barely spoke & didn’t seem to want to answer any questions. We ordered 2 of the Chef Breakfast. It took almost 20 mins. to get our food and the server brought it over without utensils. We had to ask for the utensils so we can eat our food & it took him another 5 mins. to bring it to us. We could not understand the delay when there were 4 guys with apron on just standing around talking and not paying attention to customer. My husband took a bite of the scrambled egg and spit it out saying he ate something inedible. He said he doesn’t know what it was. Took another bite & realized his egg have eggshells in it. I took a couple of bites of mine & had the same thing, eggshells. We were so disgusted but didn’t send it back. We just wanted to get out of there. As we were leaving, the waiter come over to take the plates. We told him about the eggshells & requested him to tell the owner so it doesn’t happen again. Worst experience ever!!!
Nice outdoor ambiance and great location. Friendly and helpful staff so I really Hate to give it only three stars but food was not worth the price. My meal was cold, others in my party complained on blandness or lack of praise. Sure, it’s expensive in Edgartown but serve up some better food.
Cute little spot at Martha's. Food was good but a little bit over priced. You also have to wait in line to order and hope a table opens up in the meantime because you seat yourself. Lavender late was really good!
