My husband and I recently visited the Harbor View Hotel for NYE and we had the loveliest time!!! The hotel is perfectly located just steps from downtown Edgartown so we were able to walk everywhere and take in the sights. Our room had an amazing view of Edgartown Lighthouse and the ocean! Everything was top notch, this was our second time staying at the hotel and we are already planning when we can come back this summer. Also, the staff is so professional and helpful, we were really impressed the entire time! We dined at Bettini for NYE and it was the perfect way to ring in the new year. We started with the burrata and the calamari, then moved onto some of their fresh pastas and finished with a few main course and it was just perfection. We loved every bite and the service was fab!
Always a winner! This place is amazing. I had the striped which was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside with fresh corn and shrimp. The side of broccolini was tender and flavorful, really tasty. The chicken, Believe it or not, what is the star of the show. So crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside, with the taste of Thanksgiving dinner underneath the chicken. Really a showstopper. We shared lobster ravioli for an appetizer which was equally delicious. This place is not to be missed! If I had one complaint, it would be that I listed a birthday celebration at the reservation time, and it was not recognized. This is easily overlooked because of the deliciousness of the meal.
Wedding anniversary celebration dinner. Everything was terrific and memorable. We were warmly greeted and each staff member was aware that we were there for our anniversary and extended their well wishes. Our meal was excellent including the best clam chowder that either of us have ever had. My wife had a delicious fluke meal and I had an exceptional veal chop. If we were not so full, there were several outstanding dessert choices - next time! Even as we left, the hostess made sure to congratulate us and asked to be sure that we were happy. We certainly were.
Though we had to wait 30 minutes for our table it was well worth the wait. My husband on his big birthday had what he described as the best tuna he has eaten. My meal was delicious and though we were too full for dessert they brought as a bagged delicious treat from the pastry chef. The waiter was delightful and we enjoyed every minute of it!
Excellent experience from pleasant hostess greeting to finish, with the very best and most considerate attention from our graceful server Caroline. Endive salad, lobster ravioli, heirloom tomato salad, and pork pappardelle ordered at our table and all perfectly balanced and delicious. Perfect portions. The wine list and their new wine room were impressive. Manager made the rounds to insure patrons were happy. Comfortable seating and nice ambiance. A perfect dining experience!
The atmosphere is amazing, however it is very loud. The appetizers to start were very good. We had the clam chowder and gazpacho which the gazpacho was one of the best i've had. However, once the entrees came after some time it was clear that sometimes the start is better than the finish. The entrees were overly creamy, almost as if they were trying to hide the lack of flavor with cream. The dish portions are extremely small, and overall the taste is not worth the very expensive price of them.
The ambiance and service was excellent. I am giving it a 3 because the pasta portion size was equal to a side of pasta. We ordered the pork pappardelle and I'm not kidding when I say it was less than a kid's portion. We don't like large portions either because we appreciate a serving amount that's enough to almost make you full, but not completely. The pasta also lacked a flavorful sauce, definitely not worth the money. I'd recommend going for a drink and an appetizer, which will be $50, but you'll experience an incredible view and wonderful service.
I had an excellent experience at Bettini. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. The pace of delivery of each course was spot on, and our waiter was experienced, had great humor, and was incredibly respectful and responsive.
After working in the service industry for years I’m sad to write my first review. We decided to have the last night of our minimoon at Bettini given the high regards we’d heard from family and friends. We arrived at 6:45pm for a 7:00pm reservation after having 3 separate phone calls to confirm the time. The team at Bettini was so behind on a seating plan on a Thursday night that our 7:00PM reservation was not ready by 7:15PM. At which point, we requested to understand the timing to be seated. The answer was that main courses were still on tables meaning more than 30 minutes longer. We ended up sitting at the bar in a high top. Super special! Should’ve stayed at Alchemy with top notch service. Strongly do not recommend especially in a special circumstance.
Wonderful meal which tantalized the taste buds. I have a very discerning pallet and the food was so enjoyable that I ate here twice in one week. It is a bit pricey, but it is worth every cent as the Sommelier was on hand to ensure you paired your meal perfectly with the best wine. Definitely a "'must" when on Martha's Vineyard.
