My son and I had a wonderful evening at Beside the Mill celebrating an Anniversary milestone and we had a blast!   The staff is friendly and professional, it's nice to get good  customer service and they know how to do it.  The food was wonderful and we splurged and got prime rib because of the special occasion, it was delicious!!! Stop in and see this visually stunning, wonderful local treasure, I hope you enjoy it also, and Happy Travels people!**** PS. Don't make them get the paddle out, try to behave...lol

Favorite bar to go to when we go up for the weekend. They have all three games we love to play. Pool, shuffleboard and darts. Staff is awesome. Decor is really fun. The only thing we hate is that you can smoke in there. Being non smokers, thats pretty gross. But doesnt stop us from going.

I really want to give this 5 stars but in my honest assessment I can not. It is an amazing bar to watch sports and have a beer or two. Another amazing attribute of the bar is that it is one of the few bars you can smoke in. I am not a regular but on the occasional Saturday I do like to go there and have a beer or two. So my largest complaint on why it is not a five star bar is the tunnel vision of the staff. I have bartended and I know that the first rule is service and attentiveness . Tonight I did not see that. There were two bartenders on duty. At the face of the bar on the other side away from the door one of the bartenders was engaged in constant conversation. When I come in I sit at the side by the door. This is the side ignored. Tonight my glass was empty for 15 minutes before a bartender even noticed . During this time I thought well maybe I should sit over by where she is engaged in conversation or maybe I should jump up and down. No I decided to wait and see. Tonight I tipped 5 on 2 beers, not because I think they deserved the tip because clearly they didn't. But rather to make them think wow he tipped us 5 and we didn't do anything other than process a payment and make him wait for the second beer while we were engaged in conversation with our friends. Pretty poor service. 2 to 3 stars
