Very disappointed! I ordered a festival gyro and fries..first look at the gyro I was so excited it looked good, boy was I wrong they had about eight slices of tasteless chicken no seasoning was tasted at all smh..Then the fries looked as if they were cooked in dirty grease but I figured maybe it’s just the seasoning they use before frying them NO I actually felt the dirt on my teeth as I chewed the fries..crunchy particles as I chewed..What a waste of money..I’m adding a picture of the fries that was cooked in dirty grease..I will never support this business again
This place is immaculate! Every time I go there the food is fresh and hot and great the only thing is I like my eggs over easy and it's only one time that I went and the young lady got it right every other time and I speak good money at this location for my contractors I treat them to lunch or breakfast so I'm usually ordering between 4 to 5 meals usually the breakfast and they serve the breakfast all day which makes it great! Although there are many locations with this name however this is one of the absolute delicious!
American cuisine Great atmosphere really feel like I went back in the decades great place for big groups or a quick bite. This is a Hotspot for the heights high VMD after concerts overall great people good food good times.Food: 5/5
The staff is great. The food is too. I stop by to grab a meat lovers gyro about once a month. Pretty consistent with a large portion size to price.Food: 4/5
I’m disappointed in writing this because I am a regular in best gyros, I recommend anybody I know to get this food but I ordered a chicken gyro with no onions because I am allergic. It has onions, I go back to ask them to remake it with no onions. All they did was pick the onions off and there were still multiple pieces of onions. I’m mad that this happened because I had no problem waiting on them to remake it but this is not ok the cooks need to prioritize the customers order especially for allergy reasons. And the previous time I ordered this I woke up in the middle of the night and threw up because the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way I’m sorry but I wont be here for a while now….
My husband and I spent $36 on two gyros and some sweet potato fries and may I say I wish we would have gotten our money back. I ordered a Cajun gyro and he ordered a traditional gyro. They both were flavorless, over priced, and he ended up getting sick after eating his. Not to mention the sweet potato fries barely covered the bottom of the container and were slightly overcooked. Honestly, sure what upset us more: the price or the quality of the food. Highly disappointed!
This place is perfect when you just want a fun tasty meal relatively quickly. It ain't fancy, but it's a local favorite for a reason. They are also open super late in case you are in need of a snack after having a few drinks. My husband loves the gyros, but I actually think their burger is a great option. No matter what you order, make sure to get a side of waffle fries . They're amazing!
I’m curious to understand how the owner of this place had the audacity to put the word “best” in the name. The middle aged woman who takes orders and also works in the kitchen is by far the rudest person I’ve ever interacted with at a restaurant. Horrid service and their food is so bland. The only “good thing” about their food is that they really do give a generous amount. If you want to spend money on bland food while being treated like you’re piece of garbage, this is the perfect place to go! I’ve never been so disgusted in my life at the quality of a restaurant’s service.
August 2021: The food options in Cleveland Heights seemed very limited on a weekday before 5pm. Fortunately, Best Gyro's was there to save the day. I parked across the street in a free parking lot and stopped in to see their offerings. I ended up ordering the gyro and the falafel. Prepared fresh, I had no complaints about it. Pros: * Friendly staff. The chef and the owner/manager greeted me. The owner owner/manager gave me a lesson in their unique baklava recipe. * Amazing, cool ambience. The decor has a Greek diner feel to it. The round booth is a unique use of space. The outdoor space was closed for now. * Good food. The gyro was very tasty and up to par from what I would expect. The falafel was okay, but I've had better. The baklava was very sweet, textured, but overly syrupy. They recommend pairing baklava with the ice cream. * Covid cautious staff who wear masks and gloves. * Clean restaurant. Cons: * The restrooms were closed. Not just closed to patrons, but closed to everyone. This may have been due to covid, but it seemed strange. * Prices were steeper than I would have like. Not a major issue because prices everywhere have risen.
The food is definitely yummy. But what makes this place so amazingly special is the staff. From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll notice a warmth and comfort as if you were home. The people who work here are a breath of fresh air. Marchita often works behind the counter and her warm caring attitude and beautiful smile and positive energy are both comforting and contagious. She is such a gem. Fair prices, tasty food, and a sweet staff. Try the lemon cake, the fried pita and hummus w cucumber sauce, or go on Sunday for the $1 ice cream. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus, omelette or eggs, zucchini fries, salads. Always vegetarian options and pretty sure something for vegans Kid-friendliness: My 11 yo son and his bestie went in after school one day but didn’t have enough money or had an issue with their cashapp or something like that.. the solution was to give them their ice cream for free. My son and daughter both love this place.
